Is your lo learning any language other than English?
They're teaching my lo Spanish at daycare and I have no idea what she says sometimes. Hahaha.

My DH speaks mandarin to our kids. My son usually only uses English when he talks to me tho. I do have to double check with DH that he's not trying to say something in chinese when I don't understand him. Lol

I'm trying to teach her French but I'm terrible at remembering to do it so she knows sporadic words lol. She will start French Immersion in Kindergarten but that's still a few years away!

My DH speaks Spanish to LO. I do too sometimes, but I feel like I'll confuse her if I switch back and forth (plus she might pick up my horrible grammar!)

My kids will be in spanish immersion school starting at age 3. I'm so excited for them to have the opportunity! Then they will start taking Mandarin in 3rd grade but its not as intense.

@mrskc: LOL!!! I wish I can be like your DH! It's so hard for me to mentally switch language gears when DH doesn't speak it.

We are a bilingual French/English household and my children are both in an all-German speaking daycare. My son is definitely trilingual at this point and it's amazing to see him in action.

We're bilingual English/Swedish. But LO knows more Swedish since I'm the only one that speaks to her in English (other than her TV shows and Skyping my mom).

He's learning Spanish and French in daycare and he did know Korean. I want to have him learn Korean and Spanish when he is older but right now he's in speech therapy so I figure we'll get English down first!

No, but where we live pretty much every kid is learning at least row or three languages so LO is the odd one out. The kids she sees day-to-day all speak Spanish as their first language so she is getting a lot of exposure but I'm not sure how much she retains.

My son is hearing German from his father, but he answers him in English, so we were just talking this morning that perhaps we need to switch the family language to German.

Yep, my mom is his primary caretaker so he is as much exposed to fluent Korean as he is to English. English is still his first language, but he's learning both at the same time and I am so awed at his absorption of Korean!

I really hope DD can learn another 2 languages on top of English... Since my mom speaks to her in Cantonese and my MIL speaks to her in Mandarin. I'm pretty bad about speaking to her in Cantonese unless my parents are around!
