How do we feel about large families, such as the Duggars'? 19+ children... last time I watched it was 19, could be more by now.
Come on now, its as if she's not even raising her children anymore, the older children are. That's my personal thinkings. Tell me how you feel. How many children is too many??

Well for me, 3 would be too many so I'm the wrong person to ask! If my husband wasn't adamant I'd have one and be done with it, but he definitely wants two.
My brother in law is one of 10, and his family and parents are AMAZING - I've never seen a closer bunch of people. So I think it can be great - just definitely not for me.

I don't think there is a number.
I know I couldn't manage a family that large, but I think the Duggars do a remarkably good job of handling that many. They can afford it, they all seem happy, so what business to I have judging them for their lifestyle? I think it is part of their religious beliefs not to use birth control, and while I don't agree with that view, I still respect it.
It's not a lifestyle I would choose for myself, but I've seen some families that have done a fantastic job at it!

I think it's up to the individual family... It's not something I'm in a position to judge. I grew up near the Duggars, and they are upstanding and responsible citizens. They are lovely. Meanwhile, I also know people who can't manage having 1 child.

doesn't bother me at all how many kids other people have, as long as the kids are taken care of. doesn't matter who by either!

The Duggars seem extremely happy and well loved. I wouldn't be able to afford that many children. I doubt having that many children would benefit my career either. We will likely stop at two.

I never thought I'd have more than 1, and I was 1 and done for 9 years. Now altogether we have 5, 3 full time. It works but it's so so hard!

While I don't think I could handle a family that big, I have no problem with it. Personally I think I could be ok with the idea of up to 10 kids, but our plans are for 4-6.

I love that the Duggars are financially independent. I don't agree with all of their ideas, but for the most part, I would be okay with the as neighbors!

I think its sort of hard to pick a number. 19 does seem like "too many" because at that point I don't feel like each kid is probably getting enough attention from the parents. However as families grow bigger, what the kids lack in parental attention they do gain in sibling relationships. So I think that mitigates it somewhat. I don't think I'd feel comfortable every saying x is too many kids… but once you get past 8-10 I may raise my eyebrows a little bit.
4-6 doesn't really seem like too many to me at all.

as long as my tax dollars aren't paying for them to eat, I don't care too much. But i might think they're kinda crazy
