Any ideas on how to get it out of my clothes? I didn't think it would stain badly, but I appear to be wrong. I put on a tank top this morning and realized that it was covered in BM stains How do I fix this?

BM shouldn't stain but lanolin does. Are you sure it's BM?

Yeah I agree with @T.H.O.U.: BM never stained anything for me. Do you supplement? I know formula/spit up from formula can stain.

@T.H.O.U.: @MamaMoose: hmmm, maybe it is lanolin. We don't supplement, and it is definitely in the nipple area on my shirt. That is annoying, because it sounds like it will be more difficult to get out. But, at least it is not BM. I was getting worried, because I feel lime BM is on everything now!!
So, I guess the new question is: how do I get lanolin out ???

I have lots of stains on tanks from milk, I didn't supplement or use lanolin with those tanks. It's very clear drip patterns. I have not been able toget them out a year later

@LovelyPlum: I never found anything that got it out
But as an alternative you could use coconut oil and that comes out.

@LovelyPlum: I've been using 1 part dawn + 3 parts hydrogen peroxide on LO stained clothes and it's worked on pasta sauce on white clothes. I had to pretreat twice and hand scrub.

I have tops I wore to bed that are stained badly in BM. Haven't found anything that gets it out but luckily they are just pyjama tops ! That's no help I know , but I can commiserate.

I think it's the fatty milk solids that stain! I found that plain laundry stain remover and sunlight got rid of my milk stains.

I always use dawn or some other dishwashing liquid applied straight to the stain anytime it's grease, fat or whatever (which breast milk is). I definitely had breast milk stains.

I definitely got stains from straight breast milk (I didn't use lanolin or formula). I've had some luck with soaking in oxyclean for 24 hours prior to washing.

I've heard rubbing Fels Naptha Laundry soap on the stain and drying in sunlight works.

I've had some luck with oxyclean! I use the spray one usually but also have the powder.

I use a stain remover specialized on fatty stains. That got all my BM and lanolin stains out.
ETA: I'm in Europe though so no idea if something like this is available in the States.

I use oxyclean powder in all of my washes. It has worked really well on BM stains, spit up, poop, blood, you name it! Motherhood; it's so glamorous.
