I am really struggling trying to figure out the best layout out for our eat in kitchen and am hoping some of you design-y bees might be able to help!

We do not have a dining room, our kitchen is just one big long room with half of it dedicated to a dining table and chairs. The way it is set up now, the chairs are ALWAYS in the way of walking through the kitchen. So my plan is to build a banquette or bench of some sort so that the table could be pushed more towards the wall / clear some space.

Attached are some pics of what I was thinking, but it still seems awkward! The pic with the table and just chairs is how it currently is. The other two would be straight bench or an L shaped banquette. The dresser is basically a buffet where we store extra kitchen stuff, and we could get rid of it if needed.
