My husband and I love to travel. Before we had my son, we went on regular vacations together. However, we didn't travel when I was pregnant, and since he's been born, we've only gone to Disney World with him. I'm pregnant again, and my husband and I both want to get away for a few days and have a vacation for just the two of us before the new baby arrives.

My son is almost two. We planned a trip to the Caribbean for later this month. We will stay at a nice resort on the beach and be gone a total of 5 days including travel. My in-laws are going to watch my son at their house, but they live a few miles away, so they will probably bring him to our house a lot too.

Now that the trip is coming up, I'm feeling nervous. I hear mixed messages about how getting away as a couple is important, but others say two is too young to leave a child. Does anyone have any advice or personal stories they can share? We can't back out of the trip now, unless we lose all the money we spent on the airfare and resort.
