How long was your first cycle after going off of BC? And how long were you in BC in the first place?
I was on BC consistently for 12 years. I'm now on CD 35.

@JoJoGirl - How long did they take to get back to "normal"? And how many cycles did it take you to get pregnant?

Almost 80 days before I got a period.
I was on the pill for 6 years.

Mine was 28 days right off of BCP. I had been taking it for 7 years.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@LindsayInNYC: I never really knew what normal was because they were different lengths every month. It took 6 months to get pregnant and they were anywhere between 26 and 36 days long. I Od (using OPks and temps to find out) between CD15 and CD21.

@RainbowSprinkles - Oh no! I hope that's not the case. I'll go nuts
@JoJoGirl - If AF doesn't come soon (or a BFP), I might start temping or something...
pomegranate / 3809 posts
First cycle was semi normal, about 35 days. Second cycle, which I like to call the cycle from hell, was 95 days. I was only on BC for 2 years.

After coming off the pill for LO #1, my cycles were normal. I just came off depo and my last cycle was 12 days... I am hoping my cycle goes back to normal now

My first cycle post-bcp was 35 days. I was temping, so I know I ovulated late on CD26. This is cycle #2 off the pill, so we'll see what happens! Good luck!!

@LindsayInNYC: if it is ant consolation, I got pregnant like 12 days after that very first period.
bananas / 9229 posts
@RainbowSprinkles - Oh wow! I'm hesitant to continue any sort of EOD BD until I get AF. But maybe I should
@DoxieLove - I'm debating temping to see if it makes it easier to calculate things.

On BC consistently for 5 years. Pre-BC, cycles were a very regular 30 days.
1st cycle off, 49 days
2nd cycle off, 42 days
3rd cycle off, 35 days and counting!!!

@LindsayInNYC: I would definitely temp. I'm really glad I did. It was really nice piece of mind to be able to verify an O date (on CD76) and to actually be able to know that things were still functioning, albeit a little slow.

Mine were pretty consistent at 28-29 days after coming off of BC. I was on BC for 7 years.

@KJWinter - My cycles were fairly regular pre-BC too so I was thinking they would be post-BC too. Except 1st cycle off is 35 days and counting now. Makes TTC a little harder =/

@LindsayInNYC: My first cycle off was 40 days, and I was on the pill for about 8 years before that. I starting temping right away and I know that I O'ed consistently from the first cycle. We used the temping to avoid for 4 months, then I got pregnant on our second cycle of trying. After the first two slightly longer cycles, I went to an average of 30-35 day cycles.
I was nervous it would take a really long time to regulate since one of the reasons I went on the pill in the first place was because I was getting a period every 2 weeks (in a long distance relationship, where I saw him every 2 weeks!) but it went much smoother than I feared. It's just scary because you never know!
ETA: I loved temping because even if my cycle was a few days longer or shorter, I knew when to expect my period within a day. And once TTC, I knew when we could stop EOD and just do it when we felt like it after that.

@FoodNerd81 - You're right, it the "you never know" feeling. I never really looked into temping... Guess I'll have to read up on that now!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@LindsayInNYC: Don't bother temping now as it won't tell you much - start on CD1, whenever AF finally arrives. I found out after temping and using OPKs we probably timed BD wrong the first two cycles off by like a WEEK! I was pissed! And agree with @Foodnerd then you'll know exactly which day AF is due.

I was on BCP for 10+ years. My normal cycle length is usually 24-26 days and my first cycle off BC was 28 days I think. I was on low dose pills though, so that may have made it easier for my body to adjust quicker?

I was on BCP for about 10 years and my 1st cylce off was 49 days...not sure if that was the legit length, or if my being sick delayed my ovulation.

Currently I'm on my 2nd cycle off BCP and I'm at 20 days, and to be honest, I'm not 100% sure if I've O'ed or not (leaning towards not...boo)... I'll be watching this to see what other advice you get!

I was on BC for 12 years, give or take. First cycle was 28 days. I was shocked it was so regular off the bat.

I was on BC for 6 years. I had a withdrawl bleed at two weeks off BC, then two weeks later got my first period. Then I had a 29 day cycle, then 34, and last one was 33. I'm hoping this next one is closer to 28-29. I *think* that is what my cycles were before BC.

I was on BC for 6 years and my first cycle was 28 days...but that's because it turns out I was ovulating on BC for the last year or two and it wasn't working! Yikes.

I was on bc for 12 years. First cycle off was 35, then 42, then 42, then 58!!!! Strangely I was ovulating each cycle.
bananas / 9229 posts
@SSLM - How did you know you were ovulating? I think I'm going to have to do something more if the long cycles continue after this.
@ModernDaisy - Oh no, don't tell me that!! LOL. Today is 35 and I'm stir crazy. I just want to know something!

I was on BC for 8.5 years. First cycle off was a normal 28 days (because I think the hormones were still a bit present) but the second was only 23 and each cycle got progressively longer each month until I finally ended about 26-27 days by the 5th cycle.
bananas / 9229 posts
@marionberry - I use to break through bleed on BC if I took it consistently for too long. Basically I'd start spotting as my body's way of telling me it needed to bleed, LOL. But I had two "normal" periods (in BC world) before stopping BC altogether - one right before Thanksgiving and the other, per my BC, 3 weeks later. So now I feel like my body is taking longer because of that. It's super frustrating though.

I was on for 3 years. First cycle was 32 days, second 23 days. On the third cycle, trying to figure it all out!

I was on BC 8 years and my first cycle off from it was 30 or 31 one days I think.

I was on BC for just under 10 years, consistently for the last 5 years of it (as in, I think i forgot to take it for 1 day maybe twice during the 5 years). First cycle off was a nice and picture perfect 29 days - that is the shortest cycle I've had thus far (back in May!) - things went a little haywire after that and I'm still working on regulating! It went like this in cycle days, 29, 32, 39, 33, 33, 47 (!) - now i'm on CD23 and still haven't o'd!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@LindsayInNYC: I got fairly noticeable ewcm, and I was charting temps. I also managed to get pregnant twice (one was a miscarriage) with the insanely long cycles so it's safe to say I was ovulating
