R was up every 2 hours or less and would routinely be up for 45 mins at a time. Hell.

T, my first, was more average and was up to 3 or 3.5 hour stretches by then.

Ohhh my goodness this seems forever ago with my DD she is 10 months!
At 6 weeks she slept in PNP in our room
Wake ups she was BF so I feed her on demand
2-5 wakes?!? lol
I honestly can't remember!

I think we were down to 1-2 wake up a night. At 2 montha he started STTN with the odd feeding here and there.

Both my boys woke up every 2.5 hours to eat at that age. They woke up, ate, and fell right back to sleep. DS1 slept in a pnp and DS2 slept in a rnp. Neither stretched out a feeding until 8 weeks.

I'm not sure how, but 6 weeks was the first time dd decided to sleep through the night. It wasn't consistent at that point, but it's definitely a date that sticks out

@Rainbow Sprinkles: she gained good weight so the pediatrician said it was okay to let her sleep. With DS I woke to feed him because he was smaller.

I think DS was doing an initial stretch of maybe 3-4 hours, then up every 2 hours, sometimes more frequently. It was rough. He was still in the rnp next to our bed. When we moved him to the crib at 8 weeks, he started sleeping longer stretches. I remember crying to DH I was going to lose my mind after a night of being up every 45ish minutes. Hang in there

@BandDmommy: DD2 is the same.
We had her in the bassinet in my room but moved her to the crib in her room by 6 weeks. She was only waking once a night and went right back down in her crib. I do realize she is exceptionally easy....and I'm exceptionally lucky.

We cosleep by choice, and by 6 weeks (adjusted) she was doing some 3-4 hour stretches. But at that point she wasn't nursing at all (and still isn't at least half the time), so bring close has never had an effect on her sleep that I can tell.

At that age my son was a mean cluster feeder - he'd feed pretty much constantly from 6-9ish - I'd put him down and go to sleep myself, and he could usually go until sometime between 2-4, and then be up hourly or 2-hourly until morning. That of course all went to crap at 4 months.

We were co-sleeping at that point, so she woke to nurse and I dozed.

My child dI'd not sleep, and we could never get her on a schedule. At thst point, I think we were on 2 hour stretches, maybe 3 on a good night. She was in a PnP beside the bed, then in the bed to nurse. She nursed all. The. Time. Side nursing was my salvation.

Isn't there a six week growth spurt? I seem to remember incessant nursing around then...

Dd was still doing 2-4 hour stretches, with the early mornings having a lot of grunting and noise making and I would soothe her back to sleep before she woke up.

Ds is not there yet, he's 3 weeks, but is doing a max 4 hour stretch and same with the grunting like he might wake up. I don't even try to soothe him but he often half wakes up then falls back asleep so during "my" (dh and I are splitting the night) hours he is often up down up down.

At 6 weeks...he was in bed by 6 and waking around 10, 1, 4 and 6, I THINK. I know the first stretch of the night was longest and shortest stretch was the last AM one. Amazing how much it sucks in the moment but now a year later I barely remember.
We moved him from the bassinet in our room to his crib in his room at 3 weeks. So at 6 weeks he was definitely in his own room.
Wake ups were only about 15-20 mins each and once the bottle was in his mouth he wasn't even really "awake", he had eyes closed and by end of bottle was basically asleep, burp, put down.
Sometimes he would need a bit of pick-up-put-down BUT it wasn't often and I didn't rock him much. I will say...I was militant about not holding him when he slept, day or night. I really never did it - if he was sleeping, he was in one of his devices. Most often his crib because I wanted him to get used to it. Drowsy but awake (which I know is a phrase that can piss people off, but it worked for us). And I wasn't opposed to some fussing for him to settle.

A very close friend had the issue you are having with babe wanting to be held all night, only at night. She was going bonkers! During the day she'd sleep in the bassinet but at night she just wouldn't! All I can say is that she was persistent (my friend). She constantly tried to put her in the bassinet, day and night, and she was able to leave her there for longer and longer stretches at night. I want to say that by 3 months for sure (probably even earlier) she was able to put her back in the bassinet after each feeding with no issues.
Be persistent! It will suck in the short term but will pay off in spades!
And I'm sure you already know to differentiate between day and night, but that helped my friend a lot too! Naps and sleep in darkened room, night time no stimulation not even diaper change (unless poop), daytime take her into the light for wakeups. I know these are basics so don't hate me, but it really helped my friend so I'm just saying what she says was saving grace.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: My DD was similar. She had really bad colic and reflux and wanted to nurse from 4pm to 9pm almost constantly and then would sleep for 3 hours or so and then up every 2 hours after that. She was in the bassinet next to our bed until 4 months. It was exhausting! I tried to be persistent about putting her back in the bassinet every time because my DH is a very solid sleeper and I was too nervous about co sleeping, although there were many times I slept sitting upright with her on my chest. Pure survival mode!

Omg, it was hell. From 9-12 pm Baby would sleep very well wrapped up in the Moby on DH while I slept. Then he'd wake me after feeding her a bottle of pumped milk. Then baby slept for maybe 2 hours (3 if I was REALLY lucky), but after that baby would wake up every 40 min to 1.5 hours. I would nurse her back to sleep every time but she'd nurse for 2 min. before passing out again, so impossible to get any real milk in her. We were co-sleeping. This insanity didn't get even a smidge better until we sleep trained.
