^^That is what the current ad on the right side of HB says right now. Then it shows a picture of a cute Asian girl with an arrow pointing to her that says "undress me."
Am I the only one seeing this ridiculous ad? How do I make it go away? Annoying!
ETA: Don't tell me that the ad is there based on my own personal search history. I haven't searched for ANYTHING like that before......

Download AdBlock Plus (or anything else similar) and you won't have to look at any ads, ever. I downloaded it ages ago when I got sick of ads on facebook and I completely forget ads even exist now until I get on a computer other than mine!

@Mrsdaredevil: Sorry about that! The ad was from Google's AdSense program (we only show ads from Google on the site).
I just went in and blocked all dating ads from showing up on the site. I didn't realize that dating ads ever even showed up on the site... apologies!

@mrbee: Why is that rude? I completely understand that sites use and need ads as a revenue stream, but if sites don't monitor the types of ads that get posted, I don't think it's rude for me to "hide" them. If I could pick and choose which sites have hidden ads and which don't, I would, since "normal" ads don't bother me. But I don't know how to do that.
So for me, it's either hide all ads everywhere, or stop visiting sites that have skeevy ads on them. And that's a pain to keep track of.
(If it really bothers you that I suggested this, feel free to delete my posts in this thread - I pinky promise I won't be offended by it!)

@alie: Hellobee is supported by ads. We work very hard to keep the ads reasonable.
It's one thing to block ads yourself, although I don't think it's very nice to block ads on a small family run site like this. But I do feel that posting on our site that others should also block ads crosses the line into rudeness.

@mrbee: If you have a suggestion on how to only block offensive ads, I'm all ears! It's a shame that there are so many creepy ads, and I'm sure it's not fun on your end to have to keep on top of those things.

I actually just spent a few minutes playing with the settings and saw there's an option for "disable on this site only" - am I forgiven?

I like that there is only one! (Your sponsor links have never been blocked for me; I'm just seeing one main ad in that same column, above the search bar). I hate when pretty sites get cluttered with lots of ads.
Haven't seen anything objectionable! AT&T, Zulily, and WeddingWire. All reasonable

i know you're not making it up! i saw one a while ago that showed a picture of a heavily pregnant girl (she looked really young), and it had some quick dating tagline too. i thought it was very strange. glad to know those ads have been turned off!

I have clicked and bought from a few of the ads on here. I swear anytime someone says something about a product or a site like zulily an ad pops up! And I can't say no. And on Facebook I always get the ads for "lds sluts" and "single mom dating". They are just ads though, they don't bug me. Just cause its there doesn't mean you have to click it.

A while ago there was a really disturbing one on here that was for looking for guys that want to date pregnant women. Am I the only one that saw that?
I'm on an iPad most of the time, so no ad blocking for me!

@MrsCB: I wasn't aware that dating ads were even showing up. We've blocked all dating ads now, and those ads shouldn't ever appear again!

@mrbee: Well I for one haven't ever seen any really bad ads. I understand how hard it is to keep on top of those though - they sneak in!

the ads are quite freaky because as soon as I posted about indoor water park, all my ads changed to being about an indoor water park for the entire day. But I've never seen anything inappropriate
