Anything under 3 oz can be brought on board in your carry-on. I would purchase a 3 oz. travel bottle and put some in there for your flight and you shouldn't have any problems with security.

As long as it's not a huge bottle and you put it in a baggie with any other liquids, it shouldn't be a problem.
I've even forgotten to take the bag of liquids out of my carry on the last few times I've traveled and they haven't questioned me.

I believe medications are exceptions to the 3 oz rule, actually (so you can bring them on "reasonable" sizes). I would stick to the smallest bottle to avoid issues, though.

I bring sealed medication on board for my son if it is not prescription. So, I'd buy a new bottle of benadryl in the smallest size, I wouldn't decant it.
For prescriptions, I bring a copy of the original prescription and whatever we have left.
I have never been questioned.

I've flown multiple times with my epipen in my carryon and it's never been a problem.

Bring a note from your doctor explaining the allergy. Pull it out to be screened separately. My sister flies with benadryl, epipen, and note from a doctor with her daughter all the time.

thanks everyone!!!
@brownie: do you think the emergency action plan (signed by the doctor) would be sufficent? just not sure if i get a doctor's note in time before we fly...

@butterbean: You can check the TSA website for their exact requirements but it should be fine.

Liquid Benadryl without a note should be fine. We took it for our son on our 30 hour (3 flights) trip to India last year and all 3 airports were fine with it. Just has to be a small amount, not over the max allowed.

@butterbean: I just flew with our toddler and carried on a bottle of Tylenol and a bottle of natural cough syrup. They didn't question either and I think they were both 4 oz. they tested the cup of milk but just wiped the other bottles off.
