Has your LO ever been to a live event? Such as, Disney on Ice, the Circus, concerts...things like that. I think we will wait another year or two before doing something like that so my kids can get the full benefit (or mostly) so they can enjoy it.

@Bao: We went to a Disney on Ice show when we were in Cali last year or so, and I think that we were just too far from the rink for the kids! I think if the kids are older, you can sit farther away from the stage... but with younger kids, they need to be really in the mix.

We just took M to Sesame Street Live. She's almost 3 and loved it but there were definitely moments of her getting distracted/cranky, etc. I think we'll prob wait another year or so for more shows.

Yup – I think kids of all ages get a lot out of live events, especially music. Though it’s hard to justify the price sometimes when they are little.
We go to a lot of live concerts (both “kids music” and regular adult music) and she’s been to Sesame Street Live and Disney on Ice live. She’s also been to the symphony several times: they have a kids discovery series with instrument “petting zoo” and concert and then we’ve also taken her to the regular symphony several times as well. We’re going to the Nutcracker ballet this year, and then in January seeing Disney on Ice again. Was an awesome show last year!

It's one of my favorite things to do with J - he really loves it! (I've been taking him since he was 14 months. He will be 4 in December)
We've done Disney on Ice, Wiggles, Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street Live.
Next on the list is Monster Jam and the Nutcracker.

We just took LO this past Sunday to Disney on Ice.. She LOVED it. We got good seats so I think that helped. We were late due to traffic but she was into it the entire time. We both agree it was worth every single penny. She was in heaven the whole time.

Our city does free shows at an outdoor theater in the summer, which were great, low key and shorter intros to live music and theater. I took them to their first opera recently, and it was SUCH a hit. I think I'll wait on shows in bigger arenas though because they like to be close to the action.

DS has seen Frozen on Ice, Disney on Ice, and Thomas and Friends Live. He was almost one when he went to his first show. He's always loved it and all three shows kept his attention. He's also been to a few concerts with us too.

We went to Sesame Street Live in September. She loved it and is stil talking about it. We were retty close to the stage, I think she would've been distracted if we were far from the stage.

@looch: I took my godson years before J was born and we loved it. J is really into monster trucks so I think it will totally blow his mind!

We sat super close at Sesame Street Live when LO was 2 and she loved it. We weren't even SS fans but it was still fun!

We recently did Wild Kratts Live- it went fairly well for a kid who still won't sit through a movie at 3.5 It was fun, he really liked the mix of cartoons and grown men dressed in animal suits jumping around like crazy people.
I brought a ton of tootsie pops and snacks since he can be bribed to sit still. We made it to within 5 minutes of intermission/end before he needed that potty break. We chose seats on the end of a row to make escapes easier.

we went to Disney on ice when LO was 2.5. She did great and loved seeing her favorite characters. The second half was a little longer and she did get antsy bc it was a story centered around Toy Story and she had never seen the movie.

we went to the disney classic 3 princesses live show with awesome seats when my LO was 2. She loved it. Was a little freaked out with the evil queen from snow white, but otherwise loved it. We're going to the disney on ice 100 years celebration next month.
