My honest opinion is that it looks like you had pieces from different collections and just stuck them together. There's no cohesion in the pieces other than the fact they're both leather. Take my opinion with a grain of salt though, I have a gray linen couch and a plaid wool chair in my living room.

eta; if you're going to get the couch, get the chair, lest they discontinue it or make it in a diff. leather when you are ready to buy.

@LindsayInNY: Then I think it's fine to go ahead and get the wine colored sofa. I think for awhile it might look a little off, having two different tones of leather, but whatevs it takes time to find the right furniture.

@LindsayInNY: I think too dark of leather looks man caveish. We have dark leather in DH's man cave and it works there but I like the wine colored leather for a living room. I think you can definitely add a splash of color with pillows, draperies or a fun armchair.

I brightened my phone screen and can see the colors you originally posted more clearly and the burgundy isn't so bad, but still not my fav. I think you can tie in the red by using accent pillows and other accessories.

Or when you get a new chair, i'd go for a cream in a different fabric.

The burgundy couch (@MsLipGloss: the word oxblood always makes my toes curl!) says "masculine" and "traditional" so go for it if that's the look/style you're going for.

I like it! I think the two differently colored leathers might be a little odd until you replace the chair, but I think that sofa would look great with a fabric-upholstered chair next to it. (Says the woman who has a fabric-covered couch and a leather armchair in her living room! )

Just be sure you really love the color and style of your sofa. That's one piece that is hard to change out. I'd rather live with a mismatched room for a while and have a sofa I loved than a coherent room and a sofa I was indifferent about.

Ok, I googled some red leather rooms to be more objective. Go with the burgundy sofa.

@looch: yeah, if I could do it all over I would have at least picked a color or pattern for the accent chairs in the living room.

@LindsayInNY: I like the idea with a fabric colored chair later on. I think the red leather and the brown leather is too similar (but does match). I think adding the texture of a fabric chair would be great.
