Where is a good place to get art? I think I want it on a canvas verses a frame.

Will there be any art festivals near you anytime soon? I like going to those and seeing what local artists are selling. Dh likes to buy art when we're on vacation too.
What is your decorating style? If you like modern it could be pretty easy to grab some giant blank canvases and paint something geometric.

If you're looking for less expensive mass produced art (rather than from an artist), Kirklands has a TON of canvas pieces and usually has good coupons!

@Mrs. Pickle: The ones here are always way more then we can afford. The wall is huge so we need a really big piece. I think our style is comfortable
@lawbee11: I was trying to find something online, since you know I have to get DH's opinion.

From an artist for sure! Wait and find something you love, it is so worth it. Are there any student shows, at tech schools or colleges or Unis near by?

What about finding a piece of fabric that you love and then stapling that over a stretcher frame from an art supply store?

I used to live in a loft with super tall ceilings and big blank walls... I bought 3 plain doors from home depot (no indents on them, just flat doors) and painted them white to look like canvas and then painted abstract art on them. Great way to fill a big wall cheaply. When we sold the loft the next owner bought them

http://www.artfullywalls.com is a really neat site for art. if you buy pieces unframed it is reasonably priced and then get cheap frames somewhere else. they also show you different set ups that look nice together and how to best arrange.

I got a huge piece from overstock.com. It's a bit of a leap of faith getting art without seeing it, but it worked out great for me and was a perfect fit and color.

@Smurfette: Do you have any pictures that you have taken that you love? I love the idea of putting my own pictures on canvas... lots of places do it, and that makes the piece so much more meaningful.
