I feel so bad! Our DD just finished eating and was calm and as soon as I handed her off to my Dh, she starts crying and is finally quieting down 10 min later. She doesn't have this problem with me and almost always cries with Dh. Its super frustrating too. I just want a break from her for 10 min and she cries the entire time. 
Should I be making Dh do the whole bedtime routine? He likes me to do it because he gets some work stuff done before coming up.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I think kids sometimes just struggle with transitions... if he did the whole bedtime routine with a bottle, that might go better. Or if you're ebf, maybe it'd be easiest for him to do the bathtime and for you to do bedtime? That might minimize transitions...

I think it just takes some time. I know DD1 prefers DH and has a hard time adjusting when I do her bedtime routine. We stated switching nights and giving lots of notice, saying "after dinner, Mommy is going to give you a bath" and that seems to help.

Is she still very little? Mine did that for him at the beginning. She would howl when he had her and i was eating dinner. It got better eventually.

Well she's only 10 weeks. I can see how frustrating it is for my husband. He just said, "well our daughter hates me." It's so hard to see him struggle with her. He was literally running back and forth upstairs to get her to calm down because she likes to be jiggled and he can't jiggle her like I can.
Ive tried to give him suggestions but nothing works and he gets mad at me so I've stopped. I just wish she'd respond to him like she does me.
I think we might try him doing the bedtime routine so she associates him with good things (bottle).

@abbydabbydoodlebug: It takes time, but he can figure it out! The best thing (I think) is to just give them a routine to do together, and leave them to figure it out on their own!!

I'm also in the "daddy will figure it out" camp. Just like you did, he will figure out his own thing that works.

i also think you should just let daddy do his thing and figure it out. he can do it! otherwise, you'll ALWAYS have to do it and it gets harder to fix the parental preference as they get older. sometimes mamas need a break!
