My LO is 2 years old, but has always hated the doctor's office. when she was an infant, she would start to cry once the doctor gave her a shot, but ever since she turned 9 months, she starts to cry the minute she sees the outside of his building, the elevator, the waiting room and then turns absolutely hysterical once shes in the examination room. We have to hold her down for shots, getting weighed, measured, etc.
Her fear of doctors isn't limited to her pediatrician. She won't step foot into the eye doctor's office either and it's not even for her!
Does anyone else's kids do this? Do they EVER grow out of this?
We also tried to minimize her distress at known triggers, such as the weighing table, they let us be weighed together on adult scales then weighed me alone and worked out the difference. They also stopped measuring height on the bed and let her stand against the wall. She hates being held down so maybe this helped flip the switch in her head.
