My LO is 11 days old and wants to be held all the time. if i hold her in my arms she will sleep for hours but if i put her down she will wake up after about 30 minutes. Did anyone else have this issue?

yup, story of my life! at night, I took LO for 3-4 hours, then my husband took him the rest of the night,. for the first month, each of us only slept 3-4 hrs. Then at 4 weeks we gave in and had him sleeping with us. If I needed to do anything during the day, I had him in a baby carrier where he napped peacefully.
Around 6 weeks is when I started laying with him in my bed to get him to sleep at naps, and he's been doing pretty good with it. That's also the time he started tolerating being set in the swing for 15 min so I could eat/shower.
It takes some time and patience but you'll get there. LO def still sleeps best in my arms! honestly for the first month I just cherished that time with him and held him all day long, knowing it doesn't last and I'm sooo glad I did.

yep! I think all newborns love being held..
I just held my LO because I knew a day would come when she wouldn't want to sleep in my arms!
LO slept fine at night and just wanted to be held for naps though.

Very normal. We became avid swaddlers and used the swing so we could get a break.

I feel better knowin that its normal. we swaddle as well but she is so strong and often times she is able to eventually break out of the swaddle. I ordered the miracle blanket but its seems rally uncomfortable plus its too hot for that fabric.

I really like velcro SwaddleMe's by Summer.
How about a baby carrier? For newborns, I like the moby wrap... but it does take a lot of practice. The Beco Gemini is great too... No need for an insert.

Yes, totally normal! Try a baby carrier to give your arms a break!

Yes I have ergo baby with the infant insert and I also have a sling by seven slings and I do use these sometimes.

Yep, DS spent about 4 hours in the Moby this morning; he only naps by himself in the afternoon because I use the SwaddleMe blanket and he can't break out of the velcro.

Yup, my son wouldn't nap or sleep unless he was held when he was a newborn so I obliged! I loved holding him and I cherished every moment because I knew it wouldn't last forever. Now he' s a great independent napper & sleeper. But I miss those newborn days when I got to hold him in my arms and watch him sleep peacefully,

My LO was the same. Only she wouldn't sleep at all in the crib, unless it was night time. I held her while I did everything. I mastered eating with a sleeping baby in my hands, and used it as an excuse to not get anything done.
