I don't use drop in albums, but rather I use albums/journals with paper pages, and attach the photos with clear photo corners, like this: http://www.epica.com/Italian-Leather-Calf-Skin-Photo-Albums-with-Handmade-Amalfi-Pages.html

Though it's a bit more work attaching the photos, the advantage is you can put in any size photos you want, in any combination. I use these for all my albums - it's old school but I think it looks really nice.
