Do you close your LO's bedroom door at night or keep it open? We have a video monitor but I've been keeping her door open. Maybe I should start closing it!

We don't have a baby yet, but his door will have to stay closed because we will have two kittens by the time he's born.

We never close it completely where it latches (we use a doorstop just before the door touches the frame), no idea why. We close it when putting her down and whether or not we open it when we go to bed depends on whether or not we have the AC on in her room.
I prefer open bedroom doors, even for DH and I, except when we have guests obviously!

Closed- I don't want anything waking her!
Eta our bedroom door stays open. The dog gets mad when we close it.

Closed. You have to go through her brother's room to get to her room (I hate this setup).

closed! same as everyone else with the noise factor..the dog paces all night and throws himself on the floor outside her room and he is so loud.
also might be a tiny bit of paranoia from fire safety back in elementary school. lol.

In our house if you leave a door cracked it will slam shut from the pressure change when the heater comes on...so LD's door stays closed! When we have guests (my moms here visiting) we close our door too. I still wake right up at the slightest sound she makes. Having a video monitor definitely helps

Closed. She will wake up if it is open, and if it opens from not latching all the way she will wake up instantly

Closed because of the noise. Her room is about 15ft from our living room TV.

Open at night, we don't use a monitor! Closed for naps bc we do use the monitor

Closed for noise and fire hazard. I read at some point that closed bedroom doors can be a big protection from a fire elsewhere in the house... No idea if its true but that settled it for me!

We cosleep so she is always in our room. I leave the door open both when we are in there with her, and when we are in the living room.

Always open, we turn down the TV some, but otherwise live normally after bedtime. We don't use the monitor often, and can hear him just fine if he wakes.

We usually leave it just cracked at night. During the day while he naps I close it all the way.

Closed. We live in a tiny apartment and the noise would FOR SURE wake her up.

Closed! For the same reason as everyone else. Noise. And our dog. Pacing and plopping in front of his door.

I would leave Ellie's door open, but SHE prefers it closed!
For Lorelei, her room is right at the top of the stairs (and she is the baby gate genie); so closed for safety, closed for noise, and also closed to keep our dog off of her floor bed. He loves to kiss her, but she has a hard time sleeping through that level of affection.

Always closed! Keeps the cats out and the noise down. Her room is too close to the main area of the home

We keep it closed until we go to bed then open it! I don't know why.

@beaker: I've heard the same thing and kinda go by that.
No LO yet, but I think it will be closed. We sleep with ours closed, and that's always how it's been for me growing up too.

Closed but cracked. In our new house we'll probably just do closed.

It's mostly closed (cracked open) but that's because the door makes a huge noise when you close it completely and because her room is beside ours, I try to limit the noise she will hear when dh leaves for work early in the mornings.

Definitely closed and we use white noise. Otherwise, he would hear the tv and other extraneous noises. He is a light sleeper!!

We kept the door open for about 6 months. Then the weather got colder and closing the door made more sense to keep the heat in his room.

Closed - he thinks it's party time if the door is even remotely ajar.
