Lotus birth is when you leave the placenta and umbilical cord attached to the baby until it falls off naturally. Has anyone ever heard of this or done it? I came across it on a forum a couple of days ago. It's definitely not something I could do!

Wow. Definitely NOT something I would do.. So weird.
That means you'd have a dried up placenta and cord attached for.. 10-14 days? Eek!

I have heard about it but all I can think about is the risk of sepsis from leaving a chunk of meat attached to your baby to rot.

I heard of this and I've seen photos. UM, absolutely NOT! I'm all for natural things, bu that's a bit much for me.
