Our 16 mo LO has recently gotten SUUUPPPERRR attached to her lovey (little blanket with a stuffed animal attached). Like she's going through some weird regression where she only wants her paci and lovey 24 hours a day. We used to only keep it in her crib, but in the last few weeks have started letting her roam the house with it too. It never leaves the house with us.
She threw a tantrum yesterday because DH wouldn't let her hold it while she ate breakfast. We've always said no lovey during meals because we'd be washing the damn thing every day! I was talking to my mom last night who made it sound like limiting access to her lovey was cruel and unusual punishment.. but I don't see anything wrong with boundaries?
What do you think?
plus he sleeps with it so i would prefer to keep it clean/ germ free if possible. I dont worry about germs too much when we are out of the house, but him dragging it around in public and then snuggling with it in his face grosses me out a bit
But we solved that by getting one that travels with us, and the special ones now stay at home. She's only 5 months, but I can't see myself limiting her lovey at home. A paci, maybe, but I do not see a harm in the lovey!
