I've had mine since late 2008. Good so far, but I noticed the past couple months or so that it's been overheating. It's also crashed a few times, which it never did before. Hoping it'll last me awhile longer!

I've had mine for almost 2 yrs & the only issue I had was the power cord stopped working, so they gave me a brand new cord at no cost. My mom uses an old one that was my dad's, it must be 6-8 years old. She has to leave it plugged in most of the time, but other than that, it's still going strong! My Mac desktop is old too, but no issues with it. I apple!

I've had mine since 2007-2008 -ish? I've had storage issues, so I keep having to buy external HDs for all my pics ever since the DSLR camera, but other than that I love it. I hope it lasts forever b/c I can't convince DH to get me a new one!

My brother has had his since 2006 with only a minor fan issue. Computer still works great however he is thinking about upgrading to the newest one since the new operating system won't work on his current one.

I have a macbook that I bought in 2006. It's still running. I don't use it as my primary computer since I bought a mac mini. My macbook has done her time and I have somewhat 'retired' her. Haha. She now is connected to my TV so we now stream shows.

The Macbook that I commandeered from my husband...I mean, that we share...is from 2007/08ish. He can't remember. The battery is starting to pop out and we have a large external hard drive to supplement it, but it's going strong!

I've had my Macbook for only 3 years and it's starting to crap out on me. Not terribly, but it's very slow and frustrating at times! Makes me wonder what I did wrong!

I bought mine summer of 2005. I have replaced the battery and I think te power cord. I used it daily (in school full time) until last year when I got a Mac mini.

@bluestriped bee: I think I've put the max amount of RAM allowed on my Macbook. I thought it was because I had a lot of browsers opened up at once, but even after I restarted (which was also a pain!), it would still be slow! Seeing that pinwheel drove me crazy! I also was running out of hard drive space but managed to clear out 60gbs, and it was still slow! Good thing DH let me have his old Macbook Pro, though I'm sure I'll find some way to mess it up somehow! Hahahaha. Thanks for your help!!

I had mine since Jan 2008 and I have had lots of little issues with it. It crashed on the first day I bought it and I had to take it in to the store. It has crashed many times since then. I do use it heavily. I have had to replace the power cord twice although now there is a class action law suit for that and i might get reimbursed for that.
The plastic cover inside cracked and i was told this was a common problem.
Overall I havent been as happy with it as I thought I wouldbe considering I spent over $1300 on it but I do like apple laptops and I plan to get another one soon. The main thing that keeps me loyal is their customer service and the free repairs I always get

Oh I just remembered I had to replace the battery too, my old battery just died on me with zero warning

I'm still using the one I've bought at the beginning of 2008, and it has been used hard as it was my law school computer. The only thing I've had to do is move some stuff to an external hard drive to clear space on my macbook, but that's mostly because I take a lot of DSLR photos. I also just had to replace the battery and power cord. They told me the batteries generally last about 3 to 3 1/2 years, but mine made it 4 years.
