My ILs and BIL will be coming up for M's first Christmas - yay! So we'll be hosting. Anyway I want to start a tradition of Christmas morning brunch while opening presents. We actually did it for the first time a few years back. Was so fun!
Mimosas are a must. My husband's famous pancakes are another.
What are some of your fave make ahead brunch items? I don't want to be in the kitchen all morning!
I'm thinking quiche I can make the night before and maybe a crockpot breakfast casserole?

mmm.. a potato casserole? I've never made breakfast ahead of time, but bacon/sausage is a must have. So are eggs and potatoes and something carby!

I always make baked french toast. You make it the night before and just pop it in the oven the next day. So easy and it never fails.

I've never prepared anything ahead of time - for us it's always toast, bacon, eggs, coffee, and juice. The key, though, is to cook the eggs in the bacon fat. So good.

i will second the baked french toast from smitten kitchen!
but don't be like me and forget to take the plastic wrap layer off under the foil before baking :*(

@WALLAROO: good call on the waffles! I have abelgian waffle maker so I can just make the batter the night before and whoever wants one can just make one themselves!

@regberadaisy: and for the waffles you can put out different mixins for people to customize their own waffles (chocolate chips, berries, etc)

I've made smitten kitchen's baked french toast too. The creme brulee one. So good. I agree that frittatas would be a good choice as well!
