My cousin does this on ebay. He tried to recruit me, but it still required another hour or two each day to track and fill orders. He doesn't keep any inventory just ships the identical item from a lower priced online retailer. He said most often people don't comparison shop online.

This sounds like a good idea if you have some free time or if you are between jobs but I would be weary of depending on the income forever.

Sorry I just have heard of horror stories of people making careers of things like this and then Amazon (or Ebay) changing policies or things just change. There was that scare a few years ago about them taking affiliated seller status away from all people in California due to a political reason (a few co-workers were affiliated sellers).

It does sound like this family has went through changes and will just adapt if there are changes, there was a comment in the comments section about how ebay it’s harder to make a profit now and lot of people are moving to the amazon model.

My aunt did this shopping at goodwill and places for victoria secret bras that were new with tags or basically new in odd sizes and sold on eBay.

It is pretty much like flipping a house but on a super tiny scale. Today I bought this awesome name brand coat for 25percent regular price. I know I could make big bucks if I turned around and sold it but I want it too much!

I read online that people were buying goods on sale and clearance from Walmart stores that were closing then would sell the items on Amazon. So many different stores are closing across the USA because they can't compete with Amazon. How will these physical jobs be replaced?

I noticed the prices were higher on Amazon this past Christmas than years prior...just made the connection that this is probably the reason why. Same reason why our housing market is inflated.
