@jhd: Waiting is not my strong suit and since I didn't take a HPT I have nothing to go on. Its spring break at my husbands university and he teaches and works in advising/transfer and his whole staff is going crazy for a snow day, but he is worried that with the students being off the school will have stricter criteria for calling a snow day. My work is also an academic institution but the students are in session.

@snarkybiochemist: I normally don't check hb much at work, but am so hopeful that you are getting good news I have checked it a bunch today. Is that weird?
Wishing you the best news today!

@PeaceLily: It's pangs & twinges and also a general tightness, which I remember experiencing when I had my CP. That was the cycle when my good friend who lives in CA (I live in PA) texted me out of the blue and asked “Are you pregnant?” It was too early to know yet, but I later took an HPT and got a squinter, then three days later I had the worst period I’ve had in decades – long, painful and full of clots.

Unrelated vent.
I got another internal job rejection today. This is the 4th time this has happened and I've been perfectly qualified for each position.
I'm so mad. I just hope this cycle works out so I can look forward to a 12 week paid maternity leave.

@mrskansas: Wow, I'm sorry. Have you inquired as to why you weren’t chosen for the position(s)? Maybe I’m just paranoid but I’ve seen way too many less qualified men get positions over more qualified women. Studies show that female and “black-sounding” names on resumes don’t get as far in the interview process which is just MESSED UP.
I do wish my work had paid maternity leave. We’ve only had one person take leave for a new baby in the 3 ½ years since I’ve worked here. She’s been here for over a decade and still had to cobble together vacation time, sick time, comp days, etc. And I work in public media! Liberal NPR my ass. Not to throw NPR under the bus though – they do offer maternity leave, just my particular member station doesn’t. We don’t know what we’ll do if/when we bring a new baby home. I guess we will just have to live on my husband’s salary for a while because I am absolutely taking the 12 weeks I’m entitled to by federal law. And then the idea is to have my husband take his unpaid 12 weeks after that (or maybe 10, since he’ll hopefully take a couple weeks right after the birth). That way we get almost 6 months home with baby before daycare starts. It’s easier financially for him to take time off because I make about 60% of our household income. He’s creepin’ up though!

Also my boobs feel heavy and sore but I'm only 7DPO so I'm trying not to read too much into it.

@bizwitch: The director of HR emailed me while she is out on vacation to let me know, but I plan on setting up a meeting with her when she gets back.
It's just bullshit office politics and I am so sick of it.

Does anyone else use Kindara? I don't get why it doesn't change my O date when I put in a positive OPK. Also don't look at our BD dates because our timing was terrible this month and I feel like a failure.

@bizwitch: I used kindara when I was charting and removed the ovulation predictor as I found it inaccurate even with all my data

@bizwitch: that was my main early symptom with my first pregnancy. I keep trying to notice if I get sore but who knows since I am still breastfeeding my son.
