@littlek: So do you think I should go get my bloodwork done on CD3 or CD21? I think I can only get it done once I think. (of course I can call my doctor... duh... i just felt like asking you girls first)

@littlek: no problem. I know every little savings helps!

@MrsMcD: Your family doc sounds awesome for being so proactive. I had to beg my ob.gyn for tests! Technically I believe you can get the "day 3 tests" done anytime CD2-5, which is helpful if you need to schedule around a weekend. Progesterone they will sometimes test then too as a baseline, but you really want to get that tested 7DPO, since it is to confirm you're ovulating, and ovulating "strong enough."

@MrsMcD: You need to do both days CD3 and then again 7 DPO

@Sprite: This is actually the first time I have seen this doctor after switching insurance last year. But I agree that its nice she's running these tests.

@Sprite: and @littlek: I will call the office and see if I can have the bloodwork done on both cd 3 and cd 7. If not, I'll just be happy to have it done at all and will do it on cd 3.

Thank you all so much for the info and advice!

@sprite: so many congrats to you!!!! what a blessing! did you suspect you were pregnant this cycle or was it a total surprise?

@MrsMcD: you only need progesterone and estradiol repeated on 7dpo. I'm glad you are getting the testing done now, it's good to have something to take with you for the next step I think.

Is anyone trying anything different this cycle? I've added the following:

    - Fertile Aid Tea
    - Accupuncture
    - Circle and Bloom Meditation
    - Exercise
    - Cutting out caffeine
    - Increasing BD and varying the time (adding in morning BD and DH says he will hit 0-2, 0-1, 0, 0+1 (so I'm getting lucky this month!!)

    Continuing: Preseed and Royal Jelly

I know it probably won't make a huge change but it makes me feel I have some control.

@littlek: I know I need to try something differently, but I think it's more so that it doesn't hurt so much emotionally. I am considering going the NTNP route and expecting AF to come. This means stop temping, and just do what I would do when I was on BC, except not use my acne medication. I will work on my stress (yoga and meditation) but not with the "everything is TTC" mindset, if that makes sense. This month is unlikely given that (assuming I O when I always do) DH will be out of town on O, O-1, and O+1. We will hit O-2, and hope for the best. In 4 weeks, DH finishes his job 1.5 hours away and we will live together full time. DH thinks this will make enough difference for me to get pregnant. Hope he's right. I am just so tired of being disappointed.

Thanks so much for the sympathy, everyone. I love all you ladies!

@littlek: I am trying a few new things this month:
-injecting preseed instead of just using it on DH
    - putting legs up further (though I'm worried about making the angle too harsh where it will pool the semen instead of help it. Thoughts?)
    - exercise 4 days a week
    - start our EOD plan later in the month, I think it became too forced starting so early. Current plan is 0-4, 0-2, 0-1, 0, 0+1.

@Crystal: I'm actually going to stop lifting my legs up after DTD, because I feel like that might cause my harm than good. I'm still going to lay down though.

Oh, I forgot, I gave DH orders too:
    - Daily multi vitamin
    - Work out 3 - 5 times a week
    - cut back on caffeinated beverages
    - get 8 hours of sleep

    I'm a drill sergeant.

    @littlek: here's what I'm doing different:

    -green tea daily
    -missionary position
-eat more fruits and veggies (I'm a meat and cheese fiend)
-and I'll join you guys on the exercise

I'm debating whether to add mucinex. I tried it last cycle but that was my whacked out 15 day cycle and I'm all paranoid that it will cause another short cycle even though I'm sure it's completely unrelated

  15. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@sandy: what made you start taking mucinex?

@littlek: how far up were you lifting them?

Good point about caffeine! I'm going to cut it out too. I haven't been consuming much since December (I used to have a coffee daily) but lately I have been reaching for it more often.

@Crystal: I've definitely been noticing a lack of EWCM...like it's nonexistent most cycles which was never a problem before I had LO. I've been reading articles saying the presence of EWCM is the most important factor and that couples that just tracked EWCM were more successful than those that did temping/charting. And I guess mucinex helps increase EWCM. I don't know if it was just coincidence but I felt kind of nauseous taking it and then I had that super short cycle...so I didn't take any this cycle...maybe next cycle if I'm feeling brave

@Crystal: i jave completely cut out caffeine and have decided no more getting drunk. Its been quite easy actually because getting drunk recently has just been reminding me that I'm not KU.

Oh my goodness friends! In one year of TTC, I've only seen one true positive OPK, about six months ago on a Wondfo. You should have heard my gasp this morning when I saw this!
So of course, as you know, I'm visiting my friend. DH and I did BD yesterday morning before I left and I'll definitely head home tonight instead of tomorrow! I'm just super excited to see a positive test of any kind!

@littlek: I've been drinking raspberry leaf tea, gave up caffeine, only drink once a week, exercise 5+ days a week. Oh, and I just bought preseed and we used it for the first time yesterday. Felt great! I'm not having him do anything special yet; even with all his habits, his SA was "awesome" according to the doc. He is on a diet though...he wants to be healthier so he eats what I eat most of the time.

@littlek: This month I am going to keep up the same shenanigans I have been doing in my house. (maca, royal jelly, tons of BDing, exercising, mucinex, baby aspirin).

I already exercise regularly and do so not for TTC purposes. But I think I will try to lose the 15 or so pounds I packed on last year while my husband was attending a six month police academy.

And honestly... I'm trying not to stress out. Work makes that hard. And my general nature makes it hard. But I'm trying....

  28. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@MrsMcD: yes, I'm working on reducing my stress as well! My husband works a ton and I have a stressful job so I tend to stress out a lot. I used to be awesome about working out until I had my son. I have really struggled trying to fit in exercise, be a mother and also full time employee. Oh yea and it's tax season and I'm a tax manager.

@littlek: Oh my gosh! So this is absolutely your busy busy time at work.... Its ta little exhausting to be busy at work AND be a good wife and housewife. I work out before work and occasionally after work if I go to a special class. Sometimes also Sundays before church. (And then I have cheese, crackers and wine for lunch and dinner and BOOM the work outs are wasted.) But yikes... put a baby into the mix and I don't know what I'll do!
