I'm going to join you all on the puppy thing. We already have one but i really want another and it totally would make our ttc aniversary in august better, my friend is due two days before too . But DH is dead set against!
@littlek: it's so great that everythinv came back normal but also not great that there isn't a reason it is taking a while. If you don't mind me asking, what meds will you be starting and why have they been prescribed if there was nothing wrong? Hoping the work nice and quick for you

@littlek: I'm CD 26. I think only 10 or 11 DPO. I'm already mentally preparing myself to get AF so I won't be super disappointed when it comes, but that's just how I cope

Just got back from baseline ultrasound and cd3 bloodwork. Baseline ultrasound was fine, no issues. Should get blood test results this afternoon.

@littlek: I'm so happy to hear about your good test results, what a relief!
I told my husband that you all encouraged me to get the dog, and he laughed and said, "Silly girls..." I think that's a "No!"
In other news, it's CD 10 of a Clomid cycle and I'm not sure when I should start taking OPKs. I know Clomid can give some false positives, but I also don't want to miss any surges. Plus, let's be real, I'm anxious to pee on a stick...haha.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@littlek: I would, but I waste so many tests that way...I tend not to O until WAY late in a cycle. Hopefully Clomid will fix that, but my last Clomid pill was CD 7, and they can give false OPKs for a few days. Maybe I'll take my first one this afternoon. When do you typically test?
kiwi / 693 posts
@sarahnicole218: I was told to start using OPKs 3 days after the last Clomid pill. If you're concerned about the cost, you can always use cheap wondfo OPKs until the line is starting to get darker and you know you're getting close, then switch to the more expensive digitals?
ETA: generally people O between 5 and 10 days after the last Clomid pill, so that's why my dr. said to start using OPKs at 3 days post pill, so you don't risk missing it. I usually O'd around CD16-18, after taking pills CD4-8, so on the longer end of the 5-10 days guideline.

@Sprite: Thanks for your input!! I brought some Wondfo's to work, so I'll use those starting this afternoon. I do have the digitals to use in the mornings, I think Clearblue digitals were OK with FMU. So maybe I'll start using them tomorrow morning. Hopefully it's the last cycle I'll be using them!

My doctor's office is totally bad at calling me back. I'm often left wondering, "what's going on?" Which is unfortunate, because I LOVE my actual doctor. I'm not sure if there's some sort of miscommunication among dr's/nurses/reception, or what.
Back in November, a few days after DH's SA I called the office to change my address in the system, and I casually inquired if his test results were in. They were. They had been. (...why did no one call??) Ok, whatever, miscommunication. Doctor called back later that day to give me the results.
Yesterday morning I called to schedule my HSG. I was told by the receptionist that one of my doctor's nurses would call back to schedule. I didn't verify *when* they would call back (totally my bad). I never got a call-back yesterday. I've been debating all morning whether or not I should be that annoying woman who keeps calling. I feel like it's a fine line between being assertive and pushy. I am 100% aware that I am not their only patient and do not want to act like I think I am.
Anyways, long story short: if you were me, when would you follow up and call the office back?? I'm horrible at being assertive :-\

@Snowdrop: @littlek: Thanks ladies. I sucked it up and called. Bad news, my doctor is going to be out of town next week. Based on my cycle lengths, he's also going to be out of town NEXT month during my CD 7-10 (when they like to schedule the hsg). I'll be so beyond bummed if I have to wait until May to get this done. They're checking with the doctor to see if I can have another doctor perform the hsg (I don't see why not??), or if they can work something out with his schedule. They'll call me back in a few days.

@doxielove: I'm sorry the scheduling is a mess. It's so hard to wait for testing.
@sarahnicole218: I think @Sprite: gave you great advice about testing with clomid. I take it CD3-7 and have O'd between CD14 and CD18, usually 16-18. I think starting early makes sense but definitely stick to wondfos and don't get too disappointed if you don't see anything for a week. that part really gets me down if I don't manage my expectations.

@doxielove: That scheduling mess is awful! I really hope there is another doctor who can perform the test. As for repeatedly calling doctor's offices... I do the same. I just don't leave my name unless I absolutely have to. (That way I can keep calling and they won't realize its me... unless every girl there has my voice memorized.) I also prefer to ask when a good time would be for me to call them back, rather than me leaving a message and waiting for someone to call me back.
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@doxielove: I really hope they let a different doctor do it. They are going to take pictures anyway, so it's not like your doctor won't see the results.
kiwi / 693 posts
@doxielove: ugh, so annoying! Really hoping another doctor can do it while yours is out. At my RE's office, whichever doctor is available does them, so a doctor that I'd never met before did my HSG. Or, if another doctor there can't do it, do you have a local radiology center? My insurance company wanted me to go to one, but then I switched insurances so it wasn't an issue.

Just got test results back.. Looks like we are looking at borderline DOR
kiwi / 693 posts
@littlek: I'm sorry to hear that. It's a hard diagnosis to get (I have the same). I spent a long time searching out stories of women with DOR who went on to get pregnant (there were many!) and that helped me feel a little better. Hugs!
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@Sprite: glad to know I'm not alone. :). We are meeting with RE on 21st to determine treatment.
kiwi / 693 posts
@littlek: My RE was very reassuring that DOR isn't a big deal in the big scheme of infertility diagnosis things, once you are in the right care. It might mean more meds or procedures than someone without it would need, but very very possible to still get pregnant within a short timeline once you're in the right care. I like to think of it as, at least a diagnosis is knowledge that you can use toward getting a plan of action in place with your RE.

@Sprite: I'm so glad I was proactive going to RE. :). The nurse mentioned higher doses of medication.

My temp is still up. There was some confusion in my O date. Since I ALWAYS O CD14-15, and I was mouth breathing CD 17 and 18, I excluded one temp. Assuming that is the case, I am very hopeful, because my temp normally would have dropped a few days ago. I have a terrible cough, which could be affecting my temps, but I don't think so. AF due yesterday or today. I had a tinge of spotting first thing this morning, but nothing in the last 12 hours. DH and I were together last night. I won't see him until tomorrow night, and will probably test then. My mind is going crazy!

@Sprite: how are you feeling? Have you POAS? I'm
Excited for you!!!
persimmon / 1259 posts
@bhbee: Thanks for the advice about testing. I used a Wondfo, negative as expected...but I think I'm mentally prepared for the next week or so, so hopefully my expectations will remain in check!
@littlek: Sorry to hear about your final test result, but it sounds like now that you are getting answers, you can take the appropriate steps towards getting KTFU!
@AmeliaBedilia: That's a beautiful chart, fingers are crossed!!

@sarahnicole218: I was told by my OB to start testing on CD11 on my Clomid cycles.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@Mrs.Panda: Perfect, thank you! Tomorrow is CD 11, so I think I'll use the CB Digitals with FMU and Wondfos in the late morning and maybe afternoon too. I'm still not an OPK pro, so I've never been able to nail down the "right" time of day for testing for me.
nectarine / 2358 posts
@sarahnicole218: I ended up testing at around 10 am and again at around 5 or 6. It worked! But I didn't O until like CD 23 or something.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@Mrs.Panda: Did you get your positive on both the am and pm tests or only on one of them?
nectarine / 2358 posts
@sarahnicole218: I believe it faded in over a day, was positive all day (darker in evening) then faded out by the next morning. I wish I had saved them! I just recently got rid of them all. I had them taped on a piece of paper haha

@littlek: but it must be such a relief that you have an appointment set up to figure out treatment options. Hugs lady and don't let it get you down...easier said than done I know
@AmeliaBedilia: fx big time for you!!!
@Sprite: I hate dealing with scheduling and waiting for calls back... It's so frustrating!

@littlek: hugs, friend. Did they give you any other info? Numbers? Lots of love and support your way.
@AmeliaBedilia: eeeek! So excited for you!!!
Waiting on AF to arrive. I tested today (10 or 11DPO), stark white BFN.
Do you ever get nervous that after so long TTC something is wrong? I see all these women who come and go through the threads, getting BFPs within a few months. Since I'm not, there has to be something I'm missing, right? I get worried that the MC was our one chance.
I'm just feeling down tonight.

Temp down a little this morning- link to my chart is in an earlier post. Now I am worried I really ovulated day 18 and we had no chance. Can't test til I see DH which is tonight.

Now I am bleeding. Totally had my hopes up. I don't get it. Devastated.

@Crystal: I'm sorry :(. You can't compare your TTC journey to anyone else's. Have you had a short cycle or LP or anything that concerns you? If so, you can call your OB and get some blood work done. There's sooooooo much luck that goes into TTC. Hang in there!! Big hugs
