@Mrs.Lilac: I'm sorry! Both for the BFN and the HB issues - I had HB issues the other day and had trouble submitting and it was soooooo frustrating!

    @Mrs.Lilac: sorry

Well, I spoke too soon: CD1 started today (just now and like a ton of bricks! Good thing I still had my divacup in my purse). So although I'm disappointed of course, I'm glad that my LP seem to be of normal length now. However, do you think there's anything I can do to keep from spotting for ~5 days before AF?

  10. septca

    GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts

@anyajenkins: I'm sorry, honey. Long LPs are incredibly annoying because they give you so much hope (mine was often 15 days before baby)...

Regarding the spotting... This seems to be a very unpopular opinion on HB (denial?), but my doctor (specialist, not OB) is pretty adamant that AF should start all at once with full flow. She says that spotting before AF is a sign that something is not quite right, although the cause can range from minor hormone imbalances (most common, super easy to fix, lots of people get KU without fixing) to more substantial issues like endometriosis (cause of my pre-AF spotting, which significantly diminished after my lap). Depending on where you are in your TTC journey, it may be worth mentioning to your doctor and asking for a CD21/7 DPO progesterone test.

Thanks ladies. I'm 14 dpo but AF still hasn't arrived yet. Think it will come tomorrow I feel like it is on its way I have just bought a new set of OPKs which sucks. I didn't want to jinx it and buy some before I POAS but I guess I need to get on board the new cycle. Boooo

  12. Anya

    nectarine / 2784 posts

@septca: that's what I think too (just a gut feeling). My midwife told me to come in if if not pregnant yet in a few cycles, so that will definitely be my first topic of concern

@anyajenkins: so sorry about AF. Ugh. FWIW, I sometimes spotted for a day or so before AF. Hope you can get to the bottom of your spotting

@Adira: random question about HB problems. are you using an iPad by any chance? it just worked on my phone but still not on iPad...

  17. Adira

@Mrs.Lilac: No, it was on my computer I was having issues!

@MrsHansen82: your attitude is amazing! I hope you have a rainbow coming!!

@Mrs.Lilac: sorry honey. Big hugs for you.

@anyajenkins: oh poop! I am so sorry honey. Glad you aren't in limbo! Have a big coffee and a big glass of wine today. You deserve it.

@septca: I always wondered about spotting. I have usually 1 or two days of spotting before full flow. I have two fibroids which are less than 2cm. One is in my uterus and on on the outside. I often wonder if that is to blame or something else. This was the case before nursing but seems to be an extra day of it now that I am nursing. I always count it as fewer days in my LP because I think that's what you are supposed to do right?

Cd11 here and still waiting to ovulate. My son has been nursing like mad. 6 sessions a night with a lot of hard suckling so I am not feeling optimistic about this cycle. Still gonna give it the ok college try though because ya never know. We did completely eliminate nursing from morning till eve 12 hours a day. Ya never know.

I will try to update the Rollcall board soon. Sorry been a bit crazed over here. If anyone else is impatient and wants to do so I will not mind at all.

@MrsMccarthy: Whenever you update, can you move me to TBD? I'm on CD 29 and no O yet, so there's no way I'll be POAS by Saturday.

Also, has anyone ever had issues with ovulation as a result of low BMI/BF%? I've lost some weight, and I'm guessing it is contributing to my troubles.

@Crystal: oh I've gone down that road and come back again by the time there was any whisper of TTC in my house. I researched all hospitals in my insurance network within a 50mile radius...they weren't fantastic.

@aria: I do not have personal experience with this, but I do have friends who have had this problem - how is your fat intake? If you are consuming too little fat (saturated fat included) this could affect your hormone levels. Try adding coconut oil, olive oil, butter, whole fat dairy to your diet.

@septca: yes ma'am! Love it, but it's a little crowded for me. I grew up in a very small town, so it has been an adjustment the past couple of years.

@anyajenkins: BUMMEROONY! i hope that you get a chance to POAS before the month ends and its two dark lines!

@Aria: i wouldt say i had issues but i am naturally a pretty skinny person and i was especially so around my wedding. I decided to gain 10 pounds because i had heard that could make a difference along with cutting back on extreme exercise. A lot of super skinny women get pregnant so I would say it's up to you if you want to gain a bit as a process of elimination. You can also talk to your doctor. I had a pre conception appointment and i loved reading WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE YOURE EXPECTING in preparation. It just takes luck though for many of us. I hope you ovulate soon.

  39. Aria

@KelLeeLeee: That's a good point about the fats. I've been struggling putting the weight back on because I'm just not hungry and eating is a chore, but I can definitely find ways to incorporate more fats into what I'm already eating.

@MrsMccarthy: Thanks for the response. Do you think gaining weight made a difference for you? How long did it take you to put on the 10 lbs? I'm working on gaining now, but plan to see a doctor once I'm settled, since I'm moving at the end of this month.

@Aria: have you had your thyroid checked? That can really impact TTC.
