March To A BFP. March POAS thread...

    So, for those who EOD, when do you start?? I'm on CD 14, and got the "green light" from FF today. I had creamy/slightly watery CM today. I'm thinking we should start tonight, then EOD until O passes, then once more maybe the day after (if it lines up? I dunno!!). Whats the best form of practice?? LOL!

    @HellOnHeels: I would today, especially if you have DTD lately, to get some fresh spermies cooking.

    I try to EOD from CD8- CD17.

    @HellOnHeels: In an ideal world, I start EOD 7 days before projected O and go until O or O+1. This month, my O will likely be a Wednesday, so I'd like to go Saturday (O-4), Sunday (O-3), Tuesday (O-1), and Thursday (O+1). But I actually think it's most important that you hit at least one day of EWCM, so if you are getting good CM - start!

    @Crystal: @septca: Thanks, guys!! It's not the "best" CM, but its definitely what I would expect for CD 14 (usually O CD17 or 18). Will definitely make sure to DTD on the best EWCM, but I think will start tonight!

    Ladies - how much of a temp rise do you have to have to know you've ovulated? I know FF doesn't think that I have yet, but do you guys think maybe I did? Or is the temp rise I've seen still too small?

    @Adira: I don't think it's happened yet... Are you using OPKs?

    Also - the first couple months we were TTC this time around (while I was still nursing a lot), I had multiple patches of W or EW CM before I got a + OPK. Now that I am nursing significantly less, things seem to be calming down.

    @HellOnHeels: I'm wondering the same thing! My cycles have not been regular. To be safe, I think we're going to start CD10! And use OPKs too to see when we really need to make sure we're DTD.

    @Adira: Hmm I'm not sure. My went up almost a whole degree after I supposedly O'd. Actually my temp hike led me to believe that I did O when FF said so. Did you check out the gallery of charts to see if others O'd w/ a lower temp hike?

  13. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @septca: I'm not using OPKs. I only have 7 of them (5 now), so not really enough to test as often as I need to. If this cycle doesn't work, I'll buy a bunch of wondfos and use them next cycle.

    @snowjewelz: Good idea! I'll check out their other charts and see if there are any like mine that HAVE ovulated!

    @snowjewelz: makes sense!

    So I told DH that I got the "green light" yesterday so we should start tonight (last night). He goes to a friend's house to help with something, saying he'll be home early, then calls at 1045 to say, "We don't have the part, have to go pick it up and he wants me to come with." That part was an hour away, one way. He got home at 3AM. So, we're starting tonight... Sigh. Works out better because DH is away every Wed night anyway.

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @HellOnHeels: Awww, bummer last night didn't really work out!!! I hate it when stuff like that happens, especially when it seems like our husbands aren't making it as much of a priority as we are! Hopefully tonight is a go for you guys!

  16. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    I'm so bad... I told DH when we gotta gear up and DTD EOD if possible. I asked him if he can rise up to the challenge lol. I hope he doesn't feel too pressured now! I will try to make BD as nonchalant and as unplanned as possible (when we obviously know that it's spontaneous lol). I have a feeling all fertile window BD will be quickies, but that's okay with me!

  17. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

    @snowjewelz: I basically asked Hubs if he'd be willing to have sex EOD until I got my period and originally he was all "Sure!" and now he's all "Ugh... when is this over??" WTF is wrong with my man??

  18. HellOnHeels

    clementine / 899 posts

    @Adira: I think if I would have told him it was absolute go-time he would have come home. But it wasn't the hugest deal. He knows tonight is an absolute! Lol

    @snowjewelz: I felt bad last night after I told DH it was "time" he said, "Oh NOW you want to BD?! When its 'time'?! Pfft!" He was half joking, but TBH the past 2 years my libido has plummeted, but slowly getting better since being off BCP. Poor guy. So I'm going to try and make it more spontaneous, lol.

  19. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @HellOnHeels: Both our drives aren't that high, but mine is even lower than his I think! I'm only on cycle 3 off BCP, so maybe there is hope that it will get better! My DH has def said something like that to me. Right now I'm like, eh, we don't NEED to BD and he's like "Oh, so we only BD when we NEED to?!" So yeah I def need to make it more special for him too.

    @HellOnHeels: sorry DH didn't make it home for you last night!

    @Adira and @snowjewelz: last Tuesday I told hubby it was go time for at least a week (try for EOD)- he got a little too excited about that and said let's try every day. It went ok at first, but by Sunday he was definitely over it (I had to practically beg for it), and it was NOT happening last night. And wouldn't you know, it looks like yesterday was finally my O day

  21. HellOnHeels

    clementine / 899 posts

    @snowjewelz: I'm only on my 4th and I've definitely seen an improvement. Not the kind where I wanted to jump DH's bones all the time, but close! Lol. I really do feel for the guy because when we were dating my libido was quite high, then after we got married, it plummeted and became non-existent. Huge shot to the ego. Here's to some good 'ol sexy time AND baby making! Hah.

    @charmed: I've heard sooooo many success stories of people getting pregnant with O-2 BDing, so I think you totally have it covered!!!

  23. charmed

    persimmon / 1177 posts

    @Adira: thanks! I think we got O-3, -2, -1, and going to maybe try for O+1 tonight so we should be covered
    Hopefully there isn't a next month, but if there is we're going to have to pace ourselves better!

    @Kimberlybee: I'm so sorry about AF. Any chance you can test again at the end of march or do you have long cycles?

  29. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    Question about OPKs... I went out and bought another box, now I have 13 total. I know it's best to test twice a day to make sure a surge is not missed, but will using 1 be sufficient as long as I BD EOD? I don't want to just test once a day and totally miss the surge & waste them too, but I'll probably need to buy another box since my cycle might be long.

    Good luck to everyone!

    AF is due any day now and I'm sure I'm going to get it soon. I still haven't tested, but I feel crampy and my face is breaking out, so I don't have much hope. My plan this cycle was to wait until at least March 1st to test, so if I get that far without AF showing up, I'll let you all know!

  31. septca

    @mrs. tictactoe: I'm sorry.

    @snowjewelz: I only test once per day and have never missed my surge. I think you are totally fine - especially if you are BD EOD.

    @snowjewelz: I find that I get strongest results personally in the mid-afternoon. I bought a box of 20 that go in the applicator with the smiley face. This time I started using them earlier than I thought because my fertility monitor was on "high." By the end I was using 2-3 per day to watch it fade in, and then fade out. For me knowing that the surge is coming (strongly!) and then knowing it's fading out (and thus O is/should be happening?) is good info. However, if you want to preserve, I'd say wait until mid-late afternoon and try and hold your urine for a few hours beforehand if you can...

    @KelLeeLeee: It's so funny (or not?) that guys are all for sex, but then when it's go time them can't keep up! Best of luck to you!

    @mrs. tictactoe: I'm sorry.

    @snowjewelz: For me, when my OPK was positive it showed up positive for 2.5 days (I tested about 4 different times throughout the day) Maybe if you're getting close to when you think you O, try late morning, then again in the afternoon? I've hear early morning and late evening aren't usually the best.

    @KelLeeLeee: HA. I've actually been meaning to lift weights/take a new cardio pilates class, but then figured any soreness I felt would give me a false sense of hope during TWW so I held off!
