I'm currently watching the second episode. I didn't see the first episode where they matched the couples. The second episode is the wedding episode. All 3 couples got married. They will be going on a honeymoon then live together for 5 weeks. At that point they will decide to stay married or get divorced.

It does sound interesting, but I hate that there are so many states where gay marriage is still illegal yet this crap is perfectly acceptable.

I just watched the first two episodes and I'm actually interested in seeing how this goes. When the one woman cried because she wasn't immediately attracted to the man they picked was too great not to tune in again!

I know quite a few ppl in arranged marriages, so while I'm normally very against reality shows where ppl compete to be in relationships (I think they trivialize love and marriage), I think this would be interesting to watch because I've always wanted to be a fly on the wall when ppl in arranged marriage are getting to know each other after they've already committed to one another

@TheReelDeal: I felt so bad for both of them! You could tell she felt bad and that she didn't want to hurt him. I loved how patient and understanding he was about the whole situation, you could tell that helped put her at ease.
So far, all of the couples are really likeable!

I'm watching an episode now. Do you think they are legally married? How do you get a marriage license without meeting. I thought you always had to do that in person.

@TheReelDeal: Jamie Otis is the bride that cried when she wasn't attracted to him. Turns out Jamie was on the Bachelor. I don't watch the bachelor, so I don't know who she is.

I feel bad saying this but I wasn't attracted to him either, but in the previews, he definitely gets more attractive. For the wedding he was clean shaven but in the previews he had a beard and definitely made him more sexy.

@lawbee11: I was watching this expecting I would be turned off. It just happened to be on. I never intended to watch it beforehand. Good point, though. It is sad that not all states allow gay marriage but we have shows like this.
But, my parents were in an arranged marriage. Though, I believe they met and were attracted to each other before they actually got married, so this show is a bit different in that they meet the day of the wedding. That's just scary and probably the appeal of the show. My parents are still married but they should have gotten divorced a long time ago. Though, I know of other arranged marriages and they very happy.
The social aspect of it is interesting, they have 4 specialists (sexologist, spiritualist, psychologist, and sociologist.) that picked out the couples. It's like an extreme version of online dating, I guess. I am curious if any of them stay married at the end of it.

This show seems interesting to me for two reasons:
1) my grandparents were happily married and they were an arranged marriage. It's interesting to see how this would work in a modern day setting.
2) I do like my reality tv.

Okay, I just watched episode 2 last night (didn't see the first one). At the next episode preview, it shows the couples being asked whether they want to stay married or get divorced. I'm wonder if they're even really married in the first place? The officiant said "by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you..." I thought they're required to say "by the power invested in me by the state of X..."? Maybe I'm just reading way too much into it, LOL!

@bluestriped bee: I don't know- I never watched it either! LOL. But the fact that she has now been on 3 reality/dating tv shows and her website lists her as "TV personality" makes me feel like it isn't really real. Like she's doing it for publicity. But I did oddly like the show.
