For those who are wondering and havent clicked the link...
Essentially you take a plastic applesauce cup or fruit cup, clean it out and use it flipped upside down on top of a mason jar (sealed into the lid) to transport food wet/dry without combining until you are ready!
ETA: On the big mason jars (think quart size) you could do a cup inside and a cup outside...two containers of dry ingredients!

@Mamaof2: I use mason jars for all my prep (snacks and meals) so i had a serious light bulb moment when I saw this...

Went to the kitchen to try it. Fruit cup number one would not fit. Looked for random small containers. Also wouldn't fit. AH well- we don't really eat crackers. Still I'm sure this hack will apply to something in the future. I just don't know what yet.

@808love: I'm thinking salad dressings, dips (hummus and veggies etc), muesli and yogurt, mini cereal cups for my little one(s) and just multi snacks (fruits with some choc covered raisins on top, etc)....

Interesting. I recently switched to plastic lids on my jars because the metal ones were rusting. I hand washed them, I'm not sure why that happened. Anyhow, neat idea, but I can't use it anymore!

@honeybear: I dont wash the rings unless I notice they got dirty - which is rare. I replace the lids somewhat frequently since they can get grimey too - but still a cheap option!
