7 weeks. And I haven't been uncomfortable since. I don't understand why anyone tries to "hold out" as long as possible in restrictive clothing.

I decided against the bella band as well and went straight to maternity pants. I was able to fit into my regular pants until 16 weeks so I've been wearing maternity for 4 weeks now. I don't understand why some people try to "hold out" either. They are so comfortable and they look just like your regular pants.

@Mrs. Wagon: My first pair of maternity jeans was Liz Lange from Target with a full panel and I'm not too crazy about them (maybe later on in the pregnancy they'll be more comfortable, but right now they are loose and gives me "saggy butt"), but then I bought a couple of pairs from the Gap with the demi panel and I love them. So comfortable!!

I started wearing them at 14 weeks. I had been wearing mostly dresses up to that point cause it was late summer.

At 14 weeks (I am 21 weeks now) I wore a maternity skirt to work for the first time . . . I knew as soon as sat down in my car to drive to work that (1) maternity panels ROCK; and (2) there was no going back.

Probably around 8 weeks. I have a pair of maternity jeans that look like regular jeans except for the adjustable elastic inside the waist at the back which I wore until around 12 weeks when I started telling people I was expecting and could start wearing my other demi panel/under bump pants without tipping anyone off. I like the demi panel because until about 8 months I still have a waist and the full panel just get saggy.

@MsLipGloss: ooh what skirt and from where?? I'm at a loss looking for a plain black skirt I can wear to work! (not a suit-like skirt though.)

@TidyBee: I hear ya on the *transition mode* issue! At 21 weeks, I still have a mini-bump . . . I really just look like I have gained weight (the ladies at work keep telling me I'm small :(. I digress . . . ) I have a couple of maternity shirts that I was super excited to wear when I bought them, but I haven't been able to wear them because I still don't have enough belly to fill them out. Now, it looks like I might outgrow those tops (boob--and butt-- wise because they are long-ish) before my belly gets bigger. >.<

Where is everyone getting these amazing maternity pants/skirts? I'm 21 weeks now with an obvious bump, and I can't find any that fit. The panels are all way too loose and baggy. I've been using bella bands and hair ties/rubber bands to keep my pants up since week 14 or so because I've had no luck finding maternity pants (save under the belly leggings) that fit.

@JoyJoy: If the panel is too big, I just fold it down, which really helps to keep it in place. Worn up, my panel is a little baggy, cus my bump is small and low, but with the panel folded down, I get a tighter fit and the support that I want.

I started wearing mat jeans at 8 wks and Bella band around the same time. Wore maternity pants around 12 weeks and was so comfy! Had to wear suits for a trial til 16 weeks and didn't want to but maternity suits so used the Bella band when I needed to and hated it as I got bigger!

@joyjoy: I found that most maternity pants were too big for me too. Motherhood Maternity was the only brand that had a band that was tight enough for me. Their "secret fit" belly panel fits really snug. I didn't buy maternity pants til 25 weeks and this was still the only brand that fit me properly!

I didnt' start wearing maternity pants until week 25ish. Granted I wear scrubs so I had some breathing room, btw- maternity scrubs rock and are sooo comfy!

@mrsjyw: I'm in my TWW and I knew my pants have been getting tighter and tighter over the last couple months. Well, this week was really bad. I need to get new pants, but I'm holding out on if I get a BFP. I could buy bigger non-maternity pants but am a little afraid that I won't return to this size. Maybe I should go to a consignment store so I'm not paying full price for pants.
