May POAS!

Hello ladies, I've been very busy lately so I've been a bit MIA. Besides, I'm at the boring "waiting for O" part of my cycle so nothing exciting to report. CD16 today. I got an *almost* positive OPK yesterday so I'm pretty stoked!

@doxielove: You and me both! CD14, light OPKs but no + yet. Good thing too since DH and I got in a *massive* fight last night =/

@LindsayInNYC: I'm glad that your opk's are getting better, but I'm really sorry about the fight. Those are the worst. You doing OK?

My last cycle ended up going way longer than anticipated. I'm on CD 1 now and usually ovulate on CD 19 or 20 so I will not POAS until the first week of June. Still planning on hanging out here until June though.

Decided to join in! Next month I'm taking a break from the boards & from obsessing over charting. Back to basics.

    Current Cycle Day: CD11
    Ovulation Date: today or tomorrow
POAS date/Usual Cycle Length: I usually have 28 day cycles but I've been having fertile CM sense CD10 (yesterday) so I'm sure it will be a short cycle. TBA
    Cycles trying: 15?
    BD timing: when ever
Anything different his month: Green tea 2x's/day to increase CM & I think its working. TMI: I've had so much CM I've felt squishy...FX it works! Also I'm still charting my temps but I'm using the Creighton Model Method as my primary chart and not using OPK's. Next cycle I may not temp. Trying to keep things simple this time.
And because it is May, favorite flower: all types of Lily's

@Sugar.Biscuit: I didn't know green tea helped with more cm, I'll have to try that if this cycle doesn't end up in a BFP.

@Mrsk: Guaifenesin can also help it's in a lot of OTC meds like Robitussin & Mucinex. We also picked up some PreSeed a few months ago and have been using that the last 2 cycles to help if I dry up during. Its a *fertility safe* lube. Evening Primrose Oil is another one that I have heard of.

@LindsayInNYC: My chart is so confusing and I still have not seen a temp rise to confirm O. I'm hoping maybe I'll see one tomorrow, but I'm doubtful...

@pui: Hmm. I'm not a charting expert by any means but that's odd that your temps are so consistent! Have you posted in the charting thread? Maybe someone there can help explain what's going on (if anything)? Maybe it's possible that you just have very light pre/post-O temp changes?

  15. futuremama

@pui: how frustrating! Hopefully since you're seeing fertile CM, you just have to wait another day or two. Have you tried talking to your doctor? Maybe they can give you some insight into why you're ovulating so late and if you're ovulating at all.

Hope you get some good news tomorrow morning!

@LindsayInNYC: Yeah I have posted on the charting board... hopefully someone has some knowledge.

I thought I O'd CD19, but I still have no AF and BFNs, so I guess I did not. It looks like I geared up to O again, but so far no temp rise at all even though I have +OPKs and fertile CM... my temp went down today!! I'm hoping maybe I am Oing today and will see a rise tomorrow... but I didn't think I could still O that many days after a positive OPK...

@futuremama: If I don't O again, I will call my doctor... but I am prepared for them to not take me very seriously since this is my first cycle TTC.

Hello!! there is definitely something up here, doctor!

So, I had every intention of waiting until tomorrow or Wednesday to test, because I had no tests and was waiting until payday to get some. But, my neighbor had an extra, so I caved.

It was a blue dye, but we're pretty sure there was a squinter of a line! It is sorta hard to tell, but I held it up to the light after two minutes and thought I saw something. Then I put it back on the counter, and it got darker. I'm still suspicious that I could have messed it up somehow, so I'm reserving judgement until I can get FRERs on Wednesday. But still, eeeeee. I'm pretty excited! 10 dpo today.

    @nana87: I hope so too...

I actually just realized that if I wait one more 40+ day cycle it will have been 6 months. Technically we'd have been actively TTC for only 2 cycles at that point, but we were NTNP the first 3 long cycles. Trying for 6 months, even though it would only be 4 cycles would seem to be enough for a doctor to take notice (I hope).

@pui: I'm in the same boat... I went off BC in December. It feels like we've been trying forever but yet haven't. My first cycle post-BC was 40-something days and O fell over the holidays. Second cycle was 63 days and DH was terribly sick around O. So last cycle, #3, was really our first actual attempt at trying. It was 31 days. I'm hoping this is the same. It feels like it's been so long but I have to remind myself that it really hasn't. =/

  29. pui

@LindsayInNYC: This is so frustrating because I feel like there is nothing else I can do here and there isn't any obvious answer of what it going on with my body! Positive OPKs, fertile CM, BD timing... yet no AF, no BFP and no temp rise! I thought charting would make my cycles clearer, but instead I am more confused than ever!

Sorry for all the ranting guys, I just feel really down today. :\

  30. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: The only thing I can think of it maybe your body isn't ovulating? Maybe the positive OPKs are actually false positives? That's the only thing that would make sense...

  31. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@LindsayInNYC: Well I definitely didn't O the first time I got positive OPKs and fertile signs... I would have AF or a BFP by now, right?

I really hope I see a rise in temperature tomorrow...

  32. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: Based on when you got the positive OPKs, I would think you would've already had a temp rise by now? Sunday/Monday temps would've been higher than normal. How long were you on BC? Did you have any cycle issues pre-BC? Any health/weight problems?

  33. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@LindsayInNYC: That's what I thought too... on CD37 I had a very, very close positive OPK, but still a negative so I marked it as such... maybe I still have a chance. Also I still have a TON of fertile CM (way more than I had for my first "O" this cycle).

As far as I know I am a completely healthy 26 year old woman. I didn't really track my cycles pre BC, but they seemed pretty ordinary... my periods were always often enough that I could remember roughly when I had my last one without writing it down or anything. I was on BCP for 8 years. No history of cysts, tame PMS symptoms and no health problems to speak of.

I have gained 15lbs over the last 6 months or so and plan on getting in more exercise now that the weather is nice... maybe that will help.

  34. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@pui: I'm sorry, that's really frustrating =/ Especially because things seemed so "normal" right off BC too. It's possible to ovulate and not get a period OR not ovulate and get a period. Talk about confusing! During my 63 day cycle, I was literally thisclose to calling my ob/gyn. I hit a point where I wondered how long is long enough before I can call. Since it was only my second cycle post-BC though, I tried to stick it out. What if you called and explained to someone at your doctors office what's going on - let them decide if you should wait or come in? Couldn't hurt?

@pui: I'm so sorry that it is so frustrating. I don't have any good advice, but sending lots of hugs your way. The only thing I can say is that I've heard that sometimes cycles are pretty normal coming off BC because there are still some hormones left in your body. Once they're all out, then things can get wonky. But I agree, it seems like things are a little crazy. Hope you get answers soon!

@nana87: @pui: @LindsayInNYC: @MrsKoala: @pinkpeony921: thanks ladies! Is it bad that I'm not sure I believe it? I'm so worried that lifting up the test to the light did something to it. I saw some blue dye run around the outside of the window, but the line definitely looked like a line. I know any number of things could have happened, but it's also very likely that I'm pregnant. I'm excited for Wednesday to know more!!

@LindsayInNYC: lol, I know, right? I think she was more excited for me to test than I was!

@pui: ugh i know how frustrating it can be to wait for O - I've gone through it and it's really just the worst! All I can say is that since this is your first cycle charting, don't give up and keep going, keep on charting and watching for O signs, etc. It does look like your body tried to o and failed, so you could be having an anovulatory cycle or a really delayed o cycle. I've been there, having unpredictable cycles really makes TTC a lot more stressful than it has to be.

@Sugar.Biscuit: thanks for the advice, I started using preseed this cycle and love it, so does dh, really natural feeling, but I told him too expensive to use when not in the fertile window! I tried the mucinex, well a brand I could find here with the correct ingredient, but it didn't help, I almost think it made things drier so I stopped that! But I will try the green tea for sure!
