I JUST signed up for Peachdish. Our meals should be shipping today. Technically I haven't tried it yet as this is our first week but I chose peach dish because I prefer to keep my family's meals very clean and I could pick and choose what meals they send to me. I'm really excited so I hope it like it!

My friend just sent me a link to hellofresh! I want to try it out, but it seems like you have to sign up for repeated delivery - which I'm sure you can cancel, but I hesitate in these situations because they always make it so difficult and annoying to cancel.

@Modern Daisy: you can order a one time delivery of Peachdish just to try it out! I hate meal planning so I'm so excited that I'll have to plan two less meals a week if this works out!

Nope, I don't know of any in our area. How much do they charge? How do sales and coupons work? Do they deliver from local grocers?

We've done Blue Apron for 2 weeks now, the third week is coming tomorrow. So far it's been good to get us out of our cooking rut, and try new things. My main complaint is that although you can choose which 3 meals (of 6) you want delivered, you can only choose certain combinations of the three. So for example, maybe you want options 1, 3, and 4, but when you click on option 1 and 3, only options 5 or 6 are available for your last choice. Three of the choices are meat/fish and three are vegetarian, and you can choose all three of one type, but when you mix and match, your options are limited. I think it's a cost-balancing thing, and I've heard they're working to change the way they handle that, because they've gotten a lot of complaints.

@regberadaisy: the 3 I know of are Blue Apron, Hello fresh and Peachdish...Blue Apron doesn't deliver to my area but they have the most delivery options to choose from. Hello fresh delivers 3 meals per week for $129 and Peachdish delivers 8 servings per week for $90. Basically they deliver all the exact right ingredients (and amounts) for specific recipes. all you have to do is cook it!

We did blue apron.
Pro's- so awesome not having to go to the store to buy ingredients you need. All you need is Olive oil, salt and pepper. Learn new cooking techniques and use ingredients you never have heard of before. Very yummy, restaurant quality meals.
Con's- so much prep work. I thought it would make things easier having everything pre-measured but because the meals are so detailed it was never easy making a blue apron meal. We ended up canceling because I didn't like having to make 3 meals that were that difficult a week (i worked night shift so I was out of the house 3 nights a week so it was a lot for me to do on all my days off.

We use Blue Apron. I love it, but once lo is bigger we will have to stop. I learn a lot from it and the food is great but it's a lot of prep and can be time consuming.

I've also heard that blue apron is a ton of work. It kind of takes the fun out of it for working parents who have 30 seconds to get dinner on the table, lol!

We've used Blue Apron for the past two weeks and have really enjoyed it. The delivery days in my area are Thursday and Friday, so we get them on Friday and cook them Friday/Saturday/Sunday as an at-home date night activity after we put DS to bed. Then we make easier and cheaper things during the work week. My husband in particular is a big fan and has done about 80% of the cooking of the meals while I nurse DS and put him down for the night.

We use Blue Apron and I love, love, love it. We've been using it for a long time and I really enjoy it. I make the meals after my lo goes to bed. I would probably like it a lot less if I had to get dinner on the table while she was still awake. I like that everything comes measured and I don't have to think about it or worry that I forgot an ingredient while shopping. There's also no food waste which I appreciate (so I don't have to buy a whole jar of somethingn for one tablespoon).

I like to look at those services for ideas, but I like to cook and usually I can do better price wise than $10 per person per meal.

Ok I gave away the referrals! Hope you ladies enjoy!
Honestly I feel like I could make cheaper meals myself, but it's nice trying new recipes.

We used Blue Apron for a while. The meals were usually good, but very time consuming to prep. But the biggest deterent is that you have to set your account to default to shipping every week, and sometimes we would have other things going on (travel, work dinners, etc) and I would forget to cancel in time and food would get wasted.

We use Blue Apron and really like it. I agree that it's a ton of prep work, but now I have a system (I prep as much as I can either the night before or during my LO's naps) and then cook it the second DH gets home and it's not as bad. I have 8 referrals for a free week if anyone wants one (wall me your email address if interested)!

Just got my first peach dish delivery....haven't tried the food yet but the strawberries they sent were leaking juice everywhere and it's obvious that we won't be having any leftovers from the 2 meals they sent....so we'll see how cooking it goes! I'm feeling less excited now that I've received the box....

So, from reading this I've learned - don't do Blue Apron. I'm looking to save time, not add to it!!
