I would really like to throw a "Meet the Baby" party, 6-8 weeks after LO gets here.

I know it will be a lot of work, but my mom and sister will be here (and they can't make it for my shower, my mom lives in Europe and my sister lives in Canada) and they would love to help out with it.
Technically my husband and I will be hosting it, but my mom, sister, and grandma will help out with the set-up and clean-up.

Since we won't be taking LO to church or anything before 6 weeks, it will be a time for everyone to meet her for the first time and just spend some time together with friends. I would like to set up a video booth of sorts where people can record messages for the baby, etc.

My question is, do you think this is appropriate for us to host? It's not like a shower, there will be no registry information or anything like that in the invitations. It's not about gifts, its about meeting our baby, so is it okay for us to host this ourselves?

And if anyone has tips or ideas for a party like this, do share!
