We are moving to Chandler Arizona the first week of February and I'm already sad about leaving my family and friends behind in ca. Anyone have good ways of making connections in a new place?
I'm looking at mommy groups as I stay at home with my lo. And my hubby's work has several other people our age as well, but trying to come up with some other ideas as well!

I recently moved to a new place. I found a Babywearing group local to me. It has been a jumping point for me to find other mommy friends. If you Babywear I would look and see if there is a BWI group near your new location.

I have a friend who lives in Chandler. She and her LO are always takin fun classes at the zoo: http://phoenixzoo.org/camps-programs/kids-family-programs/
I know she has also made some friends through her birth center's baby classes: http://babymooninn.com/nest/ Not sure if you need to have given birth there to participate, but you could call.

We just moved to a new city 6 months ago and I found a really large and active mom's group on Facebook. I started out in just the typical Facebook groups you could find by searching. I posted about looking for meet ups/play dates and someone added me to this secret (unsearchable) group. I am so glad they did!

We moved when my DD was just under 2. Our new town has a very active chapter of the MOMS club, particularly on facebook. It's been such a great thing!

Definitely join a mom group! I met all my great friends through a breastfeeding support group. Also, mommy and me type classes, the library... You can always check meetup.com!

i met other neighborhood moms in my new city through meetup groups (http://www.meetup.com/), stroller strides/fit4mom classes (http://chandler.fit4mom.com), and by taking classes at our local baby gym.
