Anyone rocking pastel hair? I may be going through an early mid-life crisis, because this looks so good to me!

I actually like the look of the silvericed woth the pastels (especially the lilacs!) but I just don't think I'm cool enough to pull it off. Plus I hate maintenence. I don't really like having to keep.up a color.

Love it, but I have a job where a look like this would never be appropriate.
(But I had most of these looks in college!)

They're very pretty! But the old curmudgeon in me just thinks how hard that would be to maintain, and how quickly it would wash out or get dingy!

@Mrs. Sunshine: I'm def not cool enough I'm thinking about doing something crazy just for this summer. I've had the same boring haircut for years!
@Rocker2014: Last time I experimented with color was in high school and that was a long, long time ago! I never had pastel though

@MoonMoon: Is it crazy that I actually want the washed out look? It probably has something to do with me wanting really short hair. I can just chop it off after.

I love it, I'm just too lazy. I have dark, pixie cut hair - I'd be bleaching and re-coloring constantly.

@SugarplumsMom: I could see that! I think you should go for it, because new hair experiments are fun.

I just got pink highlights! Literally today. I am a teacher on summer vacation and ready to get wild hahaha. They're a stronger pink but I think they will fade.

This thread is totally making want to get a little funky!!

I was, pre pregnancy, it's all gone now! The upkeep was ridiculous. So i let it grow out and then chopped it off.

I'm totally doing pastel hair this fall. Probably the wrong season, but Utah is behind the times anyways. I'm so excited!

Wow these are gorgeous! I have highlights in different shades of pink and purple, the rest of my hair is dark brown. It is a real nightmare to upkeep, I have to touch up the colour every fortnight! But I love it. I don't have any highlights on the very top layer, so I don't need to worry about roots and only get it re bleached about once every 4 months.

@mamimami: This is my first summer not teaching kids (I went back to school)! It's one of the reasons why I want to go a little crazy.

@SugarplumsMom: I've had that first photo pinned forever! I'm chopping my hair off and toying with going all blonde. I think I'm going to get some non-committal hair chalk

I have dark hair and have had pink, purple, and blue highlights in the past. I love it but it is so messy - the color rubs off on everything for the first week - and it is so much work to keep up the color. Though the last time I did purple and blue they both faded to pink and I loved it!

I always wanted to have fun colored hair growing up, but my mom would never let me. (She's really strict and scary.) Now, I can't do it bc I work as an auditor and I couldn't imagine how my colleagues/clients would react. If I ever have a daughter I am going to let her experiment with her looks (within reason) when she is younger bc that really is the time do it.

I work in an office that this would never fly what so ever (like think stuck in the 50s where I wear nylons and skirts every day.) But I love the pink ones, I could never pull it off with super dark brown hair but it's fun to look.

I so want blue hair. I never did anything crazy to my hair in high school or college and I wish I had! I'm loving that colored hair is becoming cool.

My mom is SO over this hair trend...she says people keep coming in for it, but keeping that pastel color is super difficult.

My single BIL is really into mermaid girls! And he's 38! He just thinks they are so pretty.

If I had blonde hair already, I would have wanted to do pink- a la Julianne Hough. I also work in a place where it may not be appropriate though.
The upkeep for me to go blonde would be too much for me, and I'm not a fan of bleaching hair.

I love it, but I'm not very good at hair maintenance so it totally wouldn't work for me. I think it's super fun and pretty, though!

I think the bobs (or lobs - long bobs) with the light pink are adorable. But I'm way too lazy for that kind of upkeep and its so expensive!
grapefruit / 4400 posts
Wait, is mermaid hair the color or the length, or both? A shorter style or lob doesn't seem mermaid-y to me.

@SugarplumsMom: i'm dying to get one little rose gold strip done in my hair, i could never color my whole head and haven't since high school!
