We are travelling to Mexico on Monday with our seven month old. My question is... Should we bring a carseat? We will be taking a bus from the airport to the resort, so there won't be anywhere to lock her in. We may take one or two day trips into town but otherwise are staying at an all inclusive resort. I keep hearing that people just ride with their babies in their laps, and I'm concerned about this, but also worry that taxis won't be able to properly accommodate the carseat. Advice needed! WWYD?

We went to Mexico with a 14 month old and we brought our car seat. We were in Puerto Vallarta and my husband had no problem installing the car seat in the cab using the seat belt.

Can you call the hotel and ask what shuttle service they use and what they can accommodate?

I used a car seat in a hotel shuttle using the seatbelt! I say take it. Especially if you have a snap and go or whatever so you can treat it like a stroller, take it to poolside, etc

At that age, I just used a baby bjorn in the shuttle to/from the resort. It didn't make me super comfortable, but worked out fine and was nice not to have another thing to lug around...

Yeah, it's obviously not the safest, but it did work out fine! When I have missed the train near our house at home, I have also taken our children on the bus in the carrier too, which is absolutely the norm. We didn't do any excursions though, but more because we just wanted to chill than on account of the car seat issue. Either way, have fun!! Once you get you will have a blast. Not the same as before children, but the stretch of time with your husband and LO away from it all in a warm place is the best!!!

We took our carseat abroad and used it in cabs, buses, and shuttles. Only once or twice we had to take buses we couldn't strap the seat into and I was so nervous!
