Looking for a strong yet short middle name for Cora.
Any suggestions? We like "southern" sounding combos but aren't tied to that. It also could be more masculine/unisex since Cora is pretty feminine.

I agree with Mae! It's our DD's middle name, and she was almost Cora.

The first name I thought of was Jane!
eta: my daughter's middle name is Mae and I think that "southerns up" any name!

Lee, Mae, Jane - all solid southern middles.
Lou is the other strong southern middle, but I'm not sure I love it with Cora.

Cora Jean/Jeanne?
LO2 is Coraline Lily and we call her Cora but Jeanne was a consideration before we decided to go with a longer name.

Thanks everyone!
Jane is DD1 MN so that is pretty much out. Lynn is a family name for my sister so I dont want to use it.
Right now I'm liking:
Cora Jean/Jeanne
Cora Leigh
Cora Louise/Lou (even though DH vetoed already)
Cora Marie (again DH has something odd again marie)
Cora Mae
Cora Grace as also very sweet.
We have a Frances the family and for some reason I like Cora Frances. Probably more formal than what we would go with, but still strong

Cora June - This is my favorite. I can't decide whether I like how close it is to D's middle, but if Jeanne is on the table, I vote this one.
Cora Pearl
Cora Claire
Cora Dove
I do think Cora Mae and Cora Leigh sound like solid southern doubles, if that's what you're going for, and Cora Frances is lovely. There's a Frances boom in my social circle lately!

I have a Cora Marie.
Marie was my middle name before I legally changed my middle name to my maiden name.
We sometimes refer to her as Cora Belle and daycare was calling her Cora Mae before they knew what her middle was.
Edited to add: My oldest has Jane as her middle.

DD is Cora Belle. It was the only middle name my husband and I could agree on - we both love it.
