No bc typically you call a person by their first name. I only know maybe a handful of people my whole life that goes by their middle name instead. Or people go by a nickname so I say go for it!

I have so many friends with the middle name Marie! It must have been the "it" default middle name for girls in the 70s and 80s!
Our LO has a Chinese middle name that will be rarely used!

No, I didn't care at all about popularity of middle name. DD's isn't popular, but it wouldn't have mattered if it was (its my middle name too!)

I wouldn't care. You rarely even use your middle name.

My middle name is Ann which must have been super popular in the 70s/80s. It was my grandmother's middle name which makes it special to me. I don't think having a common middle name is as big of a deal as a common first name.

We will be using family middle names, our girl name is my Great Grandma's maiden name (Rhea pronounced Ray) so it's a common middle name but an uncommon spelling. Our boy's middle name will be Michael after my DH's brother who passed away when they were kids.

Second round will be more family names, most likely mine or my DH's middle name depending on gender.

No I wouldn't care at all. For a little girl our middle name will likely be Elizabeth, Ann, or Mary. All extremely popular middle names but they are family names and that's why we would use them.
