I did the warm shower scrub with a cloth and then nurses. Milk blisters are interesting.

If you use a needle don't poke straight in, that increases the chance of infecting yourself with something (and the blister will re-seal easier), use the needle to scrape the surface of the blister gently, then let your LO nurse, repeat that until it opens and drains. It is more tedious, but works better (my breastfeeding course instructor gives these instructions to moms, I haven't actually tried it myself).
