I'm looking to order a crib sheet and diaper pad cover from etsy, but can't figure out if I should go with the cotton or minky. It's about a 30 dollar difference, so I am not sure if it's really worth it. I basically have zero experience with minky.

My preference is for cotton, I'm probably crazy but I think synthetic fabrics like poly irritated my son's sensitive skin.

We are having all kinds of problems with my son's extremely sensitive skin - was just back at the ped for it this morning - and one of the cardinal rules is that cotton is best for baby skin. Hopefully your LO won't have super sensitive skin, but in case I would probably go with the cotton.

For a crib sheet and diaper pad go with cotton - if you love minky get a blanket

I wouldn’t want to sleep on minky, I think it would be weird, too hot, and a mess if it got spit up on. Go with a blanket in minky.

Cotton - Save yourself the $$$ even if the minky looks absolutely adorable. Also consider how frequently you will have to wash the sheets -- cotton sheets, in general, wash well and maintain their shape and softness. There are also many different qualities and types (Turkish, Egyptian, cotton-Jersey, cotton blends, organic cotton, ... ) which boast varying levels of softness, warmth, and stretch, as well as, the promise of being hypoallergenic. (As you can see, I am absolutely, unequivocally partial to cotton. *laughs*
)

Cotton. Minky feels nice and we have some minky blankets; but it's too hot even in the winter!
