If you swaddle or use the miracle blanket, what does your LO wear under/as a base?
DD is 8 weeks old. Her room is usually around 71/72 degrees and I have the ceiling fan running on low. I usually put DD in a tshirt or long sleeve onesie + socks. When I get her up in the morning her temp seems average or slightly cool. Everything I've read about SIDS says not to have babies overheat, so I'm afraid to put more on her. What do you think?

I put her in a short sleeved onesie. It was summertime, though.

I put LO in a footed sleeper under his swaddle. His room is usually in the mid/low 70s. I'm with you--I'd rather have him be a little too cool than too warm because of SIDS.

@hilsy85 - do you do a cotton/thinish sleeper? I'm thinking a fleecy one would be too much, right?

@CarrieLouWho: yeah a cotton one. I haven't even bought any fleecy sleepers because I don't know when he would wear them--I think it would be overkill under a swaddle.

I put DD in one sometimes if we go out and it's really cool. All of our malls around here are outdoor ( so dumb!) so I have a few fleecy ones.

We used ours in the summer, so she usually wore a short sleeved onesie and socks or just a diaper. Her room stays a little warmer than the rest of the house.

I can't remember where I read it, but I read that in the winter they should have 3 layers....onesie, sleeper, swaddle. We keep our house pretty cool, so we'll probably follow that.
