I am not. What do you think? Low grade fever this past weekend but none since. Not overly fussy. She’s 8 months.

Looks more like a viral rash to me the chicken pox. Any other symptoms?

My daughter has had rashes like that that were always viral. Same progression- low fever, mildly sick, yucky rash that didn't seem to bother her much. I put a little hydrocortisone on it for a couple days and it was fine. And texted my friend who is a pediatrician with up close photos of the rash for confirmation

@gotkimchi: slight fever over the weekend. Excess BM over the weekend. Runny nose. @Foodnerd81: sounds like that is what it is. I don’t have any hydrocortisone cream. Anything else I could use?

@schubr03: aquaphor maybe? And get some hydrocortisone tomorrow. It was never a big deal and went away in not too long.

That sounds and looks exactly like what my daughter had just after Christmas. It was just a viral rash.

Yeah I don’t think chicken pox. Kind of looks eczema like so I would assume viral rash.

Looks/sounds more like a virus to me especially since your lo is too young to have been vaccinated for chicken pox so I'm guessing it would be worse if it were that. My mom freaks me out about the most random health concerns sometimes too, lol.

DD had something similar this summer... when I took her to the Ped, she said the rash was the best sign because it meant the virus was on it's way out. The rash showed up basically the last day she was sick, after that her fever went down and she was back to normal.

@schubr03: chicken pox is VERY itchy so theres usually no doubt when they have chicken pox, because they are super miserable. I had it as a teenager and nearly scratched my skin off

Looks like a rash. My LO has something similar and it just went away on its own after a day.

Roseola? It’s more characterized by a higher grade fever followed by rash when the fever breaks

That doesn’t look like chicken pox to me at all. Both my girls got it last year and it was very distinct blistery spots.

Dd just had this! Started with a cold and diarrhea then high fever (it got up to 105) and the rash appeared after the fever dropped. Doctor said it was roseola. Some kids don’t feel really sick with it or get high fevers, some do. Hope your little one is on the mend!

@Mrsbells: I also had it as a teen ave it was horrible. I still have slight scarring from scabs I picked. It was miserable and that strain was done of the worst cases our ped has seen. I'd even has a mild case as a toddler and got it again.

@maddyz: yes! I've heard people say chicken pox gets worse the older you are. Not sure how true. But most of the people I have heard you got it in their teens had a really bad experience
