Yep. I had 2 doubles. One was narrow enough for store doors (city mini) and the other for jogging (bob). I didn't use my regular double often since they have a 3 year gap (but B did nap a lot in public so I hated not having a place for him to sleep).
Baby wearing + single bob was the easiest for the first 6 weeks after DD arrived and I probably could have stuck with that if I didn't like running!

I have the UB Vista with the rumble seat and piggy back. DD will be almost 3 when LO2 arrives, so I'm really going to try to not buy another stroller.

I have a 3 year old and a 14 month old and we didn't buy a double stroller. We haven't found a need for one actually. My son pretty much walks everywhere. If he needs a break, my husband will pick him up and carry him. Or we'll have him sit in the stroller and carry my daughter. My son doesn't nap anymore in the weekends so we don't need a stroller for that. He usually just wants to PUSH the stroller so having a double stroller would be such a inconvenience for us.

@banana: even when your second was just born you didn't need it? I just cannot see my 2 year old walking far at all or behaving at the mall when #2 arrives. I'm so torn because I don't want to spend money but I also want to be realistic about if DD will listen to me or be capable of walking a mile at that age.

I have two as well. We have a Britax B-Ready (with the second seat, the glider board, and the option to put the infant carseat on the bottom) and a double BOB. I use both pretty frequently, depending what we are doing. The BOB is the best for outside (ie the zoo, walks, runs, or the park) because of the wheels and the ability for DD (who is 3.5 years old) to slide in and out as she sees fit. We use the Britax for inside stuff (ie the mall/shopping, my doc appts at my OB/GYN) and flying (this stroller has gone from TX to NY four or five times now!).
My kids are 23 months apart and there was no way I could have gone without a double. To this day, I enjoy the option to have DD sit if she wants.

we have a combi double sport and use it every single day! charlie and olive are 22 months apart and it's too hard for both of them to walk as much as we need to to some of the farther places we go.

@luckypenny: I did lots of baby wearing the first few months. It was more convenient for all of us. I don't know. We just never really felt a huge need for it. Maybe because we drive everywhere (we live in LA). I'm sure that if I lived in NY I would definitely need a double stroller. I borrowed my friend's wheeled. board for our bugaboo and my son loved riding on that. We just managed without it!

We have a double stroller but hardly ever used it. My kids are 20 months apart, but DD has been refusing to sit in the stroller since about 18 months. DS would tolerate the stroller when he was a newborn, but for the most part, both kids would rather be in the carrier or walk. Now that they are a little older (3 and 18 months) we do get a fair amount of use out of our wagon.

Haven't bought one yet but will most likely do so in a few weeks/months after #2 arrives and we kind of scope out the situation.
