I've been teaching little man (20 months old nearly) his body parts. So far he can correctly identify his ears, hair, head, eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, elbow, arm, leg, knee, fingers, hands, toes, feet, tummy and sometimes his belly button.
We're still working on the rest. But I was curious. For your older child, what did you teach them to call their private parts? I don't want to give it some sort of cutesy name and I want to have it figured out so I can tell the grandparents what to call it if asked. I'm sure it's a personal preference thing but I'm perfectly content to call it what it is - penis. Or if we're in public, private parts. But even if we are in public, it's still a penis.
Is it wrong of me to want to call it that? I also happen to think if he actually managed to say it, it would be too cute to be embarrassing.
So mommas of boys help me out - what did you do?
i'm convinced now and will use penis
