Our girl's name is in the top 20. It is a family name and my husband is set on it. It has been moving up, but I don't care.

My daughters name is NOT on the list, which makes me happy I just hope its not too high on the actual ss list, but we will find out next year I guess.

DS2 is in the top 50. DS1 is not on the list. My favorite girl name is in the top 20, which totally surprises me!!!

DS2 is in the top 100, but barely. DD is the only girl with her name (although she has a common nickname). DS1 had a super common name, but unusual nickname. Apparently we are all over the place lol

My daughters name is 400 something on the ssa list and in the top 100 on the nameberry list. My second choice isn't even in the top 1000 on the ssa list but is also in the top 100 on nameberry.

I think they're a pretty nice mix for the most part.
Dd's name isn't on there, but Ds is in the second half of the boys list.

@Goldengirl: oh man I really love some of those names! This list surprises me. But DS isn't on it so I guess that's good? Or maybe bad

My DD's name is on that list, in the 80s. I'm a bit sad that it seems to be rising in popularity (barely in the 400s on the SSA list the year she was born but up to the mid-300s last year). I'm not surprised, though, since it's very close to a name that has been super-popular for years.

Has no one noticed that khaleesi is in the top 50 on this list??

Looking at it again, I think people are likely to research and consider less common names, but often end up picking something more mainstream, for lack of a better word. So you might look at, say, Sadie, but ultimately pick Emily.

I've never met anyone with many of the top 20 names. My baby's name is 34 on this list but I've met many little girls with her name just in the last six months (which makes sense since it has been in the top ten for our state on the SSA list).

Neither of my kiddos names are on the lists! DD's name nope and son to be DS name nope, and I don't think either are rare or different!

Neither of my girls' names are on this list. They are not in the top 1000 either.

My youngest's is on the list, but so is Khaleesi. I'll take the SS list more seriously than the internet click popularity list.

We're still safe! DD's name is not on that list, though the #2 choice we were sitting on is on that list. Our boy name we hope to use some day is not on the list either.

@Foodnerd81: OMG I KNOW. Like... at least wait until the series is complete so you find out what her character winds up doing. (Nevermind it's a title not a name anyway)

It's funny though, we were happy to pick a name that was not even in the SSA top 500, then found out a couple weeks ago there is a girl at LO's new daycare center with the same first name and same first two letters of her last name. Like what are the chances. You really can't predict these things I suppose - at least it's an older girl, not in her same class.
