I'm kind of confused how the previews didn't tip them off?
What would you do in this situation?

What can ya do? Mistakes happen...I think I would cover LO's eyes and then go tell a theater employee to put on the right movie. And give me my money back.

I'd be pretty mad, because I know that even a couple minutes of a scary movie (or a trailer) can cause nightmares for years when you're four years old...
I'd grab my kid and leave and ask for my money back.

Before reading the article I was like, meh... but after reading it I felt pretty upset. Normally scary movies are not all that scary in the beginning and you have a chance to get out before anything too bad happens, but this movie started off really terrifying.
I would be pretty furious.

@blackbird: i know...once my DH tricked me and told me he got Up in the Air from Redbox. I was really excited to watch me some Clooney but halfway through the previews I started yelling at him. He got Saw 6 or something instead.

Omg I can't even watch the Paranormal trailer! I was watching Jersey Shore yesterday and had to turn the volume off and switch screens whenever there was a commercial break!

If it had adult trailers I would have left then before the movie started but I do understand that accidents happen. I would ask for my money back or free tickets.

Just an FYI - previews are usually separate reels and are not attached to the movie. It's possible (and probable) that the correct age-appropriate previews were shown, and it was the movie reel that was wrong.
And that totally SUCKS for all those families!
