was making oatmeal in the microwave and it blew up! It was a splooge. Thankfully the work microwave has a pull out tray. I swear that thing has never been cleaned!
Do you clean up after yourself if you make a mess in the work microwave?

When I make oatmeal at work, I usually make it in a cup and it ALWAYS explodes. I end up cleaning the whole microwave after that.

Yes. I hate when the work microwave has old food in it! Also, every time I make porridge (oatmeal) it explodes... So frustrating!

I do clean microwaves, although now that I know the vinegar trick it's actually fun to clean microwaves now.
And yah, microwaved oatmeal is a nightmare! Have learned the hard way that it needs a cover... same goes with chili and steamed eggs.

If it was a huge explosion, yes. If I was heating up soup and a couple splatters got out, I would try to wipe it up with a paper towel, but nothing too involved.

My food always explodes, but I always clean it up. That's what I get for bringing explode-y things like potato soup

@regberadaisy: You microwave a bowl of white vinegar for about 2 minutes, let it sit for a few more minutes, then you open up the microwave and all the junk in there just wipes out! No scrubbing or anything!

I have totally done this. I have to watch my oatmeal like a hawk, stop it when it's about to overflow, and then start again. And then stop.. and start. I'm such a dork.

One of my many office pet peeves is dirty microwaves being left behind. I rarely use our microwave because it gets grodie.
