Use a leave in conditioner but just a little since us girls with fine hair can easily turn it greasy. Use a comb not a brush & use a deep conditioning treatment once a week. Leave it on for 10 minutes in shower to really let it soak.

I have the same hair as you. I find that it is much worse when I use a brush on it... I think it tears my hair and causes split ends that then tangle more easily. I bought a hard-plastic wide-tooth comb and detangle from the bottom up. Wind will still cause tangles (I think that is unavoidable) but it seems better since I stopped brushing.

ETA - I also only wash my hair about once or twice a week. I think it is healthier since I stopped washing it as often (since frequent washing strips the natural oils, drying it out and damaging the hair).

@mrsrain: Same with me about washing it. I only wash it every 3rd day or so. The oils do help...otherwise it dries out and makes everything worse.

@bunnylove08: I used Redkens Intense Renewal Mask, as well as their Redken anti-snap, I use this daily! Redken is really my go to for hair stuff for my thin fine hair!

I have found that the best way to adjust was just to go cold-turkey. Your hair will be really greasy for the first week, but then it adjusts. I honestly don't NEED to use a dry shampoo because my hair isn't super oily now that it has adjusted. That said, I stay at home so it was easy for me. You could also just start spacing out the number of days. For example, wash every other day for a week, then every 2 days, then every 3rd or 4th day... you get the idea.

I have heard that a little talcum powder or even corn starch can work to absorb the oil on off days, if you need it. Good luck!
