Whoo! Enjoy it! My kids recently spent nearly 2 weeks with their grandparents. It was totally strange but really recharged both my DH and I.

Enjoy!! 2.5 years is a long time so I would be dramatic too but it'll be over in a flash so I hope you're having a good time!!

I'm currently away from my 2.5 year old too. She's staying at my cousins- I was a mess yesterday.

Fun! I'd prob be a mess too! I often wonder if DD1 also 2.5 would be able to sleep elsewhere! My parents are close by and she has two cousins so we always talk about sleepovers!

@Mamaof2: Thanks for asking!
It went great! He definitely missed us and my mom made the mistake of face timing me on the morning we were coming home, but he recovered fast. I think driving away would have been hard when they first took him, except he is totally obsessed with their van and so he didnt even worry about that. They also did such fun stuff, like going to the beach, walking their dogs, and going to a children's museum. He only napped like 15 min on the drive to their house, and then he struggled getting to sleep and woke up super early. So he had a major sleep debt but recovered pretty fast! @snowjewelz: I think that's what I was most worried about! My dad told him a long made up boring story and put him to sleep that way, so sweet.
As for my husband and I, we had a nice dinner, watched a movie, and went out the breakfast the next morning. I wasn't even able to sleep in.
The next time I spend a night away from my LO will be when I go into labor with my baby in November!

@mrsbubbletea: yay! So glad it went well! Of course you didn't sleep in - haha - you never can when you have the chance!

@snowjewelz: He slept on a full bed with my mom, and kicked her all night. I was laughing about that because he is totally used to cosleeping, and doesn't really kick me (I actually spend about half the early morning hours sleeping with him on his twin bed, with my big old pregnant self!). I think it's cause she was trying to put the blanket on them, and he always kicks blankets off.

@mrsbubbletea: Haha! My mom almost slept with her the night I had DD2; but since I had DD2 at 9pm and settled into recovery before midnight I told DH to go home. I have a feeling she might be a better sleeper outside of our home, haha!
