My lovely period has returned 29 days after my C-section. I'm so bummed...I thought it would be a lot longer since I am breastfeeding and pumping regularly.
Did getting your period affect your milk supply?

Period already?? How come? (I mean, does having a c-section have anything to do with it? I never knew!)

I bled for about 2.5 weeks after my C section then it was just clearish discharge. When I started to get cramps and bleeding the other day, I thought something was wrong so I went to see a nurse practitioner who let me know it was just my period. She said every woman is different but most breast feeding moms usually have a few months of no periods! Ugh! My mom's period also returned a month after giving birth and she got pregnant a few weeks later....I better get some BC at my 6 week check up!

wow! pregnant so soon after giving birth. that's almost as bad (or maybe worse) than having twins!
period so soon! might be hereditary?

oh man that sucks. i got mine 3 months after i stopped pumping at 9 months with charlie, and i had a c section too. hope it doesn't affect your supply!

@Mrs. Bee: Is that something that can sometimes affect supply? I got mine a few months back, but so far so good. But, it was also when LO was a bit older & I'm EBF so maybe that's why I didn't have problems? Oh, and I also had a c-section.

My period started at 7 months pp. Currently on my 3rd cycle and supply is fine. Just make sure you get enough rest and drink lots of water!

@Boogs: getting your period can affect supply, but it doesn't affect everyone.

Oh jeez, what a bummer. I bled for awhile after my vaginal birth, as expected. But I haven't gotten my period and LO is 5 months old. I wonder how often that happens. Seems unfair to me!

I got my period back at about 7.5 months. DD was EBF until 6 months & then we slowly began introducing solids, so I got mine back fairly quickly compared to a lot of people. I did notice a dip in my supply but after my period it did go back up to almost what it was before I had it back. It dips a little bit each month now when I have my monthly gift, but it does go back up.
